Hey everyone, it's time for another post about my favorite game, Splinterlands!
So, whenever I have cool battles worth talking about, I share the battle link to later make a post about... and I am a little behind with the post making part, daily life got in the way and my first free time goes into playing Splinterlands, grinding my ranked battles to earn Glint and SPS so it's about time to start typing again.
This battle is from 6 days ago and I was surprised to see the Blood Moon ruleset outside of the Halloween event, I guess they kept it in the rotation but just with a very low percent of getting picked, which is very cool because these battles can get crazy real fast, especially when you have units that are already awesome and doing a lot of damage so it's easy to get that Blood Lust start gearing up.
So for the newer players, the Blood Lust ability gives +1 to all stats after a kill, so you have to be careful when building your teams to NOT make it easy, using units with low HP so your opponent can get easy kills, in Blood Moon fights, it's always good to bring a unit with Taunt. Just a little tip! 🙂

I've seen this player before, I remember the name because it's odd to see someone in Modern League that's NOT in a guild, and since I turned off liquidity bots, it has to be a human player.
In the previous battles fought I could see max level archons and Moo, bringing spell reflect and blast to the fight which is a pretty nasty combination, usually I would like to put Slade in second position to stop the blast with the Deflect but I also wanted to use Renelor, the Gladiator with Reach - the speed isn't great but with a couple of Blood Lust boosts combined with the Armored Strike from Elias things can get crazy real fast.
My opponent also used a Taunt, good thinking! The tactics went to Sea Dog of Eight and Zargrul, this team is fully maxed out so I have a BIG disadvantage from the start, let's see how this plays out.

Well... in hind sight, it would have been a lot better if I'd put my Taunt in the back so the blast wouldn't do as much damage... The start of the fight doesn't look good at all, my Taunt is killed but the enemy taunt is still with 11 Health Points.

I was finally able to get through that nasty Taunt, Zargrul is a really nice card I don't have, this battle is going a lot different than I planned it, because of the blast, my armor to strike with is almost completely gone but now with both the Taunt and the tank gone, I'm still in the game!

And suddenly, things got ugly - for my opponent 😄 Slade and Renelor Cleaver are doing a lot of damage together, supported by a heal they killed the front line, improving their stats and suddenly Endura Brune is in the front position, unable to fire since she's wielding a bow, it's a win against all odds!

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
This battle was in the last day of the previous season, I was trying to get somewhere in the 2600 rating range but after going up and down, it was futile to try and go any higher but I still earned more SPS and Glint while trying and had fun along the way.
