The Bests Cards for Modern Gold Rank Part I: NEUTRAL

El siguiente paso natural seria subir el escalon y probar mas arriba, uno podria creer que por ser apenas un rango la diferencia no seria tanta pero nada mas lejos de la realidad, la brecha que hay entre cada rango adyacente es enorme y analizando los niveles de las cartas y las partidas de esos rangos nos podemos dar cuenta de eso, por eso traigo ahora esta nueva serie de consejos sobre cuales son para mi las mejores cartas en formato Modern para rango Oro, y como dice en el titulo, me centraré primero en las Neutrales. ¡Bienvenidos!

Las Cartas.
Antes era un poco mas tedioso porque era manual, ahora el portal de Peakmonsters te permite filtrar cuales son las cartas permitidas para cada formato, si no sabes como hacerlo aqui te dejo una guia:

En total hay 32 cartas neutrales que se podrán usar en este formato, iré analizándolas poco a poco de acuerdo a su rareza.
Cards.

Comunes:
11 cartas comunes componen el total que se puede usar en Modern, entre las que se destacan para mi estan:
- Horny Toad:
Desde nivel 6 ya es util por que aprende Veneno pero en Nivel 8 es donde mejor la veo porque tiene 4 puntos de velocidad + Reach, puedes situarla detras de tu tanque con ese potencial enorme que te da el veneno y cuesta apenas 3 puntos de mana. Llevarla hasta nivel 8 te costara aproximadamente 150$ y rentarla ahora mismo cuesta 18.85 DEC/dia.
- Elven Defender:
Esta carta es util en cualquier nivel pero en 6 se convierte en casi indispensable porque la habilidad Escudo ha cobrado mucha importancia desde que apareció Chaos Legion y lo hara aun mas en el formato Modern, es perfecta para usarla combinada con Horny Toad por ejemplo, aguantará mucho, hará buen daño y protegera a tus demas cartas, subirla te costará alrededor de 86$ y alquilarla vale 20.9 DEC/dia.
- Chaos Agent:
Toda carta que valga 1 solo punto de mana es buena para mi gusto, sirven como distraccion en muchas ocasiones pero lo de Chaos Agent es otro nivel, porque tiene muchisimas chances de esquivar todo tipo de ataque, si le potencias la velocidad puedes convertirlo en un mega tanque gracias a su combinacion de habilidades y todo eso por 1 solo punto de mana. Subirla cuesta cerca de 28$ y alquilarla vale 10.86 DEC/dia.
- Supply Runner:
Pensando en una posible combinacion con Chaos Agent por ejemplo, la habilidad de esta carta mas su velocidad la convierten en una adicion perfecta para tu equipo, porque potenciará muchisimo la velocidad de tus cartas y puedes armar estrategias realmente demenciales con esta carta, solo para darte un ejemplo, piensa en Lira the Dark + Supply Runner en tu equipo e imagina el resto.
- Battering Ram:
Lo que hace tan buena a esta carta en Oro es su combinacion de habilidades, todas las cartas con Oportunismo son buenas pero esta ademas tiene Shatter, romperas armaduras con un solo ataque y ademas es muy veloz, eso si, ten en cuenta que es bastante cara (233$ aproximadamente o 72.79 DEC/dia).
Common:
There are 11 common cards make up the total that can be used in Modern, among the standouts for me are:
- Horny Toad:
From level 6 it becomes very useful because it learns Poison but at level 8 is where I see it better because it has 4 points of speed + Reach, you can place it behind your tank with that huge potential that gives you the poison and it costs only 3 points of mana. To take it up to level 8 will cost you approximately 150$ and renting it right now costs 18.85 DEC/day.
- Elven Defender:
This card is useful at any level but at level 6 it becomes almost indispensable because the Shield ability has become important since Chaos Legion appeared and it will become even more important in the Modern format, it is perfect to use it combined with Horny Toad for example, it will hold a lot, it will do good damage and protect your other cards, upgrading it will cost you around 86$ and renting it costs 20.9 DEC/day.
- Chaos Agent:
In this game, any card worth only 1 mana point is good for my taste, they serve as a distraction or like a ''free hit'' in many occasions but Chaos Agent take this to another level, because it has a lot of chances to dodge all kinds of attacks with Phase, if you boost its speed you can turn it into a mega tank thanks to its combination of skills and all that for only 1 mana point. Upgrading it costs about 28$ and renting it costs 10.86 DEC/day.
- Supply Runner:
Thinking about a possible combination with Chaos Agent or even Horny Toad for example, the Swiftness ability of this card plus its speed make it a perfect addition to your team, because it will boost a lot the speed of your cards and you can build really insane strategies with this card, just to give you an example, think about Lira the Dark + Supply Runner in your team and imagine the rest.
- Battering Ram:
What makes this card so good in Gold is the combination of its abilities, all cards with Opportunism are good but this one also has Shatter, you will break armor with a single attack and it is also very fast, but keep in mind that it is quite expensive (233$ approximately or 72.79 DEC/day).
Raras:
Hay en total 7 cartas Raras que se podran usar en formato Modern, ¿cuales recomiendo yo? veamos:
- Gargoya Devil:
Esta carta es muchisimo mejor de lo que parece ser y desde Plata se volverá un counter perfecto para una combinacion bastante dificil de enfrentar como es Llama + Kron (y de cualquier carta con Last Stand, por supuesto), en Oro el Deathblow de esta carta le hará 6 puntos de daño a esa ultima carta y ademas puede atacar desde cualquier posicion, creo que es indispensable tenerla en tu equipo, alquilarla vale solo 9.88 DEC/dia y subirla hasta nivel 6 cuesta apenas 4$.
- Elven Mystic:
Si bien hay muchas y muy buenas formas de enfrentar alineaciones magicas, se le puede sacar mucho provecho a Elven Mystic y sobre todo si juegas con Fuego, ya que será tu unica carta disponible con esta habilidad, perfecta igual para nerfear un poco a ese poderoso Kron combinado con alguna carta que tenga Void o Reflejo Magico. Alquilarla te costará 24 DEC/dia y subirla costará unos 240$.
- Tower Griffin:
Lo primero que debo decir de esta carta es que su diseño es hermoso pero dejando eso a un lado, en nivel 5 aprende Protect y esta habilidad es muy buena incluso si enfrentas magia (usando una carta con Void Armor claro). Lo que no me gusta mucho es que tiene muy poco ataque pero para ponerla en ultima posicion es una carta excelente porque tiene Fly. Alquilarla vale 24 DEC/dia y subirla a nivel 6 te costara cerca de 120$.
Rares:
There are a total of 7 Rare cards that can be used in Modern format, which ones do I recommend, let's see:
- Gargoya Devil:
This card is so much better than it seems to be on the stats and from Silver rank it will become a perfect counter for a deadly combination quite difficult to face like Scarred Llama + Kron The Undying (and any card with Last Stand ability, of course), in Gold the Deathblow of this card will do 6 points of damage to that last card and also can attack from any position, I think it is essential to have it in your team, renting it costs only 9.88 DEC/day and upgrading it to level 6 costs only 4$.
- Elven Mystic:
I know there on this format are many good ways to face magic alignments, you can take advantage of Elven Mystic and especially if you play with Fire Splinter because this card will be your only card available with Silence ability, perfect to nerf that powerful Kron combined with a card that has Void or Magic Reflex. Renting it will cost you 24 DEC/day and upgrading it will cost about 240$.
- Tower Griffin:
The first thing I must say about this card is that its design is really beautiful just look at it, but leaving that aside, at level 5 this bird learns Protect and this ability is very good even if you face magic (using a card with Void Armor of course). What I don't like is that it has very little attack but to put it in last position is an excellent card because it has Fly. Renting it costs 24 DEC/day and upgrading it to level 6 will cost you about 120$.
Epicas:
Hay en total 8 cartas, todas muy buenas para este rango, pero las que pienso que se destacan muchisimo son:
- Uraeus:
Un caso parecido al de Horny Toad pero potenciado con la habilidad Sneak, tiene una velocidad excelente, buen daño y la posibilidad de envenenar a tus rivales por solo 3 puntos de mana, una carta que si o si hay que tener en el equipo. Comprarla cuesta cerca de 10$ y alquilarla cuesta 26.7 DEC/dia.
- War Chaang:
Una carta que funciona en el ''dia a dia'', la podras usar en casi cualquier alineacion y siempre te va a dar muy buenos resultados porque le puede hacer counter al Sneak enemigo, una habilidad que se practicamente en todas las batallas y cuando aparece el Ruleset Close Range se vuelve un tanque perfecto, ataca dos veces, puede regresar ataques si recibe daño y tiene Trample, bastante cara, si... Pero vale mucho la pena. Podras comprarla alrededor de 315$ y rentarla por 57.35 DEC/dia.
- Halfling Alchemist:
Para empezar, en todo el juego solo hay 2 cartas con la habilidad Halving y una de ellas es de edicion Gladius, esto la hace ser muy rara y ademas es una carta Promo, todo eso se traduce en un precio enorme, pero su potencial es tambien increible. Para darte un ejemplo rapido, si esta carta daña a un enemigo que tenga 5 puntos de ataque, su ataque se disminuye a la mitad y redondeado hacia abajo, osea de 5 pasa a 2 puntos solo por recibir daño, puede eliminar verdaderas amenazas con un simple golpe y combinandolo con ciertas cartas lo puedes convertir en un verdadero dios y a todo eso se suma que cuando muera, le hara daño a todos los enemigos. Cuesta cerca de 1300$ subirla a nivel 5, alquilarla vale unos 250 DEC/dia. Como dato curioso solo hay 2 cartas disponibles para rentar a nivel 5, asi de rara es esta carta.
Epics:
There are a total of 8 cards, all very good for this rank, but the ones that I think stand out a lot are:
- Uraeus:
This is a similar case to Horny Toad but boosted with the Sneak ability, it has an excellent speed, good damage and the possibility to poison your opponents for only 3 mana points, a card that you must have in your team. Buying it costs about 10$ and renting it costs 26.7 DEC/day.
- War Chaang:
A card that works very well on the ''day by day'' of this game, you can use it in almost any alignment with any Splinter and it will always give you very good results in last position because it can counter the enemy Sneak ability, an ability that is practically in every battle and when the Ruleset Close Range appears it becomes a perfect tank, it attacks twice, it can return attacks if it receives damage and it has Trample, quite expensive, yes? But it's worth it. You can buy it for around 315$ and rent it for 57.35 DEC/day.
- Halfling Alchemist:
To begin with, in the whole game there are only 2 cards with the Halving ability and one of them is a Gladius edition and therefore cannot be used in rankeds, only in brawls battles, this makes it very very rare and also it is a Promo edition card, all this translates into a huge price, but its potential is also really incredible. To give you a quick example, if this card damages an enemy that has 5 attack points, its attack is reduced by half and rounded down, that is, from 5 to 2 points just for taking damage, it can eliminate real threats with a single hit and combining it with certain cards you can turn it into a true god and to all this is added that when it dies, it will do damage to all enemies. It costs about 1300$ to raise it to level 5, renting it costs about 250 DEC/day. As a curious fact, there are only 2 cards available for rent at level 5, so rare is this card.
Legendarias:
Solo 6 cartas componen esta lista, todas ellas me parecen una verdadera maravilla y muy muy utiles pero elegi las que para mi son las 3 mejores:
- Doctor Blight:
Creo que en cada post que he hecho recomendando cartas he nombrado al buen Doctor, y es que es una cosa increible, explico un poco el contexto: Solo cuesta 4 puntos de mana y es neutral asi que puede jugarse casi en cualquier alineacion, elimina la curacion en los enemigos, no puede ser atacada si esta en segunda posicion, puede envenenar y cada vez que un enemigo muere, aumenta 1 punto de vida y a todo eso sumale 2 puntos de daño magico, como resultado obtienes una carta que quieras o no, sera util si la invocas, como punto en contra esta su precio, bastante inflado por ser una carta Promo de Chaos Legion pero a mi parecer esta justificadisimo el valor que tiene, cuesta cerca de 500$ subirla a nivel 3 y alquilarla te costara unos 34.46 DEC/dia.
- Cornealus:
Otra carta que tiene tanto potencial que incluso se puede usar de tanque aunque no pueda atacar en esa posicion, Cornealus tiene mucha vida y se cura a si misma, y viene con Espinas y Fuego Reciproco, todo lo que no sea magia sufrirá enfrentandose a esta carta y ni hablar del provecho que le sacas al ponerla en ultima posicion, las cartas con Sneak van a sufrir cuando la ataquen y esta se ira curando cada turno, matarla es muy dificil y si la has enfrentado estoy seguro que sabes eso. Cuesta unos 550$ comprarla y rentarla te costará cerca de 77 DEC/dia.
- Chain Golem:
Lo que aguanta este Golem es para enmarcarlo, tiene un diseño que me encanta, un ataque bestial, gran armadura y mucha vida, junto a una combinacion de habilidades que lo convierten (en mi opinion) en el mejor tanque del juego. Puede enfrentarse a los 3 tipos de ataque en una misma partida y aguantar muy bien y perfora armadura. ¿Imaginas lo que puede hacer si la combinas con Halfling Alchemist? y eso es solo por poner un ejemplo. Una carta excelente. Cuesta unos 400$ y rentarla costará unos 95 DEC/dia.
Legendary:
There is only 6 cards composing this exclusive list, all of them seem to me a real marvel and very very useful but I chose the ones that for me are the 3 best:
- Doctor Blight:
I think that in every post that I have done recommending cards for the game I have named the good Doctor Blight, and is that it is an incredible thing, I explain a little context about this card: It only costs 4 mana points and it's neutral so it can be played in almost any alignment, it removes healing on enemies, it can't be attacked if it's in second position, it can poison and every time an enemy dies, it increases 1 point of life and to all that add 2 points of magic damage, As a result you get a card that you want or not, will be useful if you invoke it, as a point against is its price, quite inflated for being a Chaos Legion Promo card but in my opinion is justified the value it has, it costs about 500$ to raise it to level 3 and rent it will cost you about 34. 46 DEC/day.
- Cornealus:
This Cornealus is another card that has so much potential that it can even be used as a tank even if it can't attack in that position, Cornealus has a lot of life and heals itself, and comes with Thorns and Reciprocal Fire, everything that isn't magic will suffer facing this card and not to mention the benefit you get from putting it in last position, cards with Sneak will suffer when attacked and it will heal every turn, killing it is very difficult and if you have faced it I'm sure you know that. It costs about 550$ to buy it and renting it will cost you about 77 DEC/day.
- Chain Golem:
This Chain Golem has a design that I really love, a beastly Melee attack, a great armor and a lot of life points for 8 mana points, along with a combination of abilities that make him (in my opinion) the best tank in the game so far. It can take on all 3 attack types in the same battle and holds up very well against all of them and also pierces the enemy armor, can you imagine what it can do if you combine it with Halfling Alchemist? and that's just to give an example. An excellent card. It costs about 400$ and renting it will cost about 95 DEC/day.
Conclusiones.
Saltar de Plata a Oro es un paso importante si lo que pretendes es ser competitivo, debes pensarlo bien pero algo que a mi me gusta mucho de este juego es que no necesitas desembolsar todo el dinero de golpe, puedes probar a alquilar estas cartas y utilizarlas para entender su verdadero potencial en batalla, y es que hay un patron que se repite en todas las cartas, observa:
Conclusions.
Jumping from Silver Rank to Gold Rank is an important step if you intend to be competitive on that ranking, you should think it through but something that I really like about this game is that you don't need to pay all the money at once, you can try to rent these cards and use them to understand their true potential in battle, and there is a pattern that is repeated in all the cards, watch:

¿Que quiere decir esto? pues que podrias rentar, por ejemplo, a Halfling Alchemist por ¡5000 dias! o lo que es igual, mas de 96 semanas o simplificado, por poco mas de 13 años con lo que vale comprarlo hasta su nivel maximo de oro. Esto es igual con todas estas cartas, claro que los precios influyen muchisimo en esto pero lo que quiero explicar es que si todavia no sientes que dominas el rango Oro, siempre puedes planificar tus rentas y dar lo mejor de ti asi, mientras vas armando tu mazo poco a poco. Nunca es tarde para empezar a convertirte en el mejor jugador, todo depende de ti.

What does this table mean? Well, just do the maths... You could rent, for example, a Halfling Alchemist card at level 5 for 5000 days! or what is the same, more than 96 weeks or simplified, for a little more than 13 years with what it is worth to buy it up to its maximum gold level. This is the same with all these cards, of course prices influence a lot in this but what I want to explain is that if you still don't feel you master the Gold rank, you can always plan your income and give the best of you while you are building your deck little by little. It's never too late to start becoming the best player, it all depends on you.

Halfling Alchemist como le tengo miedo a esta carta me la encuentro mucho en batalla en oro y de verdad esa habilidad de bajarte uno de ataque a lo que sea mago arquero o a malee te baja el ataque y te deja casi desarmado.
