
In recent days the price of SPS hit a new low. One can see on a daily chart for the past year that SPS to USD is near its low.

There were plenty of new offerings from assets, land cards, new card sets, and many more items than prior years but yet the demand for SPS seem to continue to fall in price.

Through splintercards.com it currently lists 1.019 billion SPS staked while the grand total of 3 billion ever to exist. The amount forever burned is a meager 62.7 million SPS.
There is now new proposals on reward distributions in rank plays in Survival and likely very soon in modern. I get the sense that these proposals were made in hopes to be able to somehow distribute the remaining SPS to more players who invest the most into the game.
The whole premise of the game is to earn SPS but if value of the token is continuing to go down it is difficult to see how other assets could hold up in value. Some say DEC matters as much as SPS, but in my opinion the reward being in SPS with cap in supply and still have price drawdown is not a good long term theme. What can we do about it?
I feel the proposals is going in the right direction to try and pull forward active players who are heavily invested in the game through assets gets the opportunity to yield the most SPS. Yet there may need to be further outlets in spreading the SPS distributions.
For instance land owners can produce SPS if they configure resources properly. The entry cost to actually start mining SPS was once simpler than current configuration. Maybe developers can adjust the way SPS can be mined at less stringent requirements in order to have players mine more SPS.
Then there are old third party games that once had SPS to be won such as Soulkeep. The game was a different alternative than just battling with cards and I remember enjoyed playing it. With updates to re-release the game and have more SPS rewards distributed there then maybe more SPS can be distributed to different players that are not just whales to the card game but to Soulkeep.
There could be random lottery weekly lotteries for checking in daily to keep players engage daily and maybe even win some SPS randomly. That way even players who have little to no cards have an opportunity to grow into the game with some assets and in turn willing to spend real cash to grow their account.
It needs to be thought out and options executed before SPS gets far too low in value. It maybe too late if it goes too far down for the token price be saved. In turn that maybe the downfall of Splinterlands as the main asset players are trying to earn deteariates in value.

Yes, Soulkeep was fun to play - the rules were clear and the cards weren't so confusing!
In a way, I think they are already doing the lottery system through the jackpot system for the cards. Though, you have to complete quests, and if you want them in modern, you have to pay the fees.
