I am going to share my perspective of how I am earning passive income in DEC in Splinterlands currently as of June 2026. With all the price trending down in Splinterlands it can get moral down to play the game daily. However the ever bit of DEC I am yielding daily does help inspire me to log in still almost daily. The following methods are what I use daily to accumulate DEC passivelly.
My daily DEC yield from swapping resources into DEC is coming in at more than 100 DEC per a day. Sometimes if a resource value rises I can get a lot more in terms of DEC.

With the daily DEC from land I can stake more to increase my resources production. This in turn is making a resource fly wheel for me. I hope to add a surplus of DEC once I have max needed energy in order to purchase more lands and produce more resources for increase in even more resources.

For years I have leased out cards for rent and have obtained a ton of DEC but since the rents shifted to season prices it has mainly curb demand and drop prices. The down trend in prices has continued and recently I have noticed it fallen significantly due likely to the value of DEC falling by at least half from where it was just last month.

It is this current season that I have seen a lot of my rentals not been able to rent out to earn more DEC. I have steadily seen a few cards renting each day but nothing like the past few seasons where Survival battles was in popularity.
A weekly DEC earning from renting out my staked SPS is steadily providing income that I continue to stake. The more SPS I stake the greater amount I can rent out. However for now as I am actively participating in Modern I have kept close to 3k SPS for myself in hopes of pulling better rewards/prizes.
Overall these are the methods I currently use to earn passive income in DEC. I believe the passive income is yielding more than my daily battle rewards and I hope it continues as its much easier to just slowly compound the earnings than to play daily for reward cards that are worth zero CP.
Thanks for reading this post!
I am considering delegating out my SPS also, but is the APR much better than just sitting there for some staking rewards?
