DEC Pool Or Not?

In prior time I had invested a large sum, over 100k DEC, into the platform SPLTrader.com to earn passive DEC income. In terms of yield it was decent as the DEC came from buying and selling cards for profit in DEC. Then the trade market started to slow and next thing I knew I was earning a lot less in DEC. The earnings was volatile therefore I sold my position and spent it on other assets such as HP and staked DEC in land. Now after almost a year out I am looking again if it is a viable opportunity to invest in the pool.

Last month there was a day where large investor bought a ton of SPLTrader cards and or seller who sold way below asking price and SPLTrader was able to earn massive profits with arbitrage ended up having very profitable DEC distribution to its investors. So well that the APR yield for staking in the pool is an annual percentage over 22%.

There is no cap on how much one can invest into the pool and as of now there is nearly 77 million DEC in the pool. Now each day the DEC yield is small in terms of yield but if one can hold on for big up days like the one seen in July 2026 it would be beneficial to have invested in the pool long term. However pulling capital in and out of the pool for the sake of simply trying to use the DEC liquid for multiple functions would not capture those significant up days.

In addition this pool only requires DEC to earn. On other pools that requires two or more assets the amount a player earns is dependent on both assets maintaining the same value. Having multiple assets locked up may not be as easy as it looks versus just a DEC pool.

I am still accumulating liquid DEC but if I had a decent amount lying around I likely would be invested in the pool and swapping for more HP.

Speaking of HP the conversion between DEC and Hive is fallen into DEC favor again and not sure how long this will last but its my main reason for not currently partaking in the DEC pool. I simply want to trade for more Hive at current levels but will likely be looking into the pool if I continue to stash more DEC.
