I hope all of you are doing well in your life and also enjoying the day with your family and friends. If you are a Splinterlands player like me and play this game on a daily basis and keep yourselves updated with the game, then you must know that we are already very near to the season end, as the current ranked season is about to end in only around 2 hours. So whatever your goals are for this ranked season - either to reach a certain league & tier or to fight to secure a spot in the OG Champion leaderboard, I hope you guys have already achieved that and if not, play fast! Now taking a look at myself, this season has gone quite well for me as not only I have reached my goal earlier this time, which was to enter the Champion III league tier, but I have also gone to a 2800+ trophy rating this time as my highest. So I am very happy to push myself from the border of Champion to a bit higher place this time and if I can perform a little better, I may reach the Champion II tier next time, but I have to practice better and come up with unique lineup strategies with what collection I have. Let’s now see how it goes…
Moving on, let me now come to the main topic of this post as today, I am going to showcase another amazing Splinterlands Rebellion card with you all and as you have already seen it in the thumbnail above, today I will be talking about the COMMANDER SLADE monster card. So, if you are interested, let us take a dive in today’s post without any further ado.
COMMANDER SLADE is a monster type card that comes under the Latest Rebellion edition card set and it is a Reward type card that is a powerful choice for players mainly as a front defence. This monster belongs to the Water elements and costs a whooping 10 mana to be used in battles, so you can select this card when playing Medium to High mana limit matches. Its attack type is melee and it is a Rare type card, so you will need a total of 115 BCXs of cards to upgrade this monster to its max level. Now looking at its performance, it is an overall high stats holding card that comes with good defensive abilities which I am about to talk about below. Let us now take a look further into its league wise stand and abilities at below.
BRONZE
At level 2, this card only possesses 3 melee attack at 5 speed with 5 armour and 9 health along with 2 abilities called - Enfeeble and Dodge, both of which it gets from its initial level. Enfeeble is one of the newest abilities that got introduced in this game with the Rebellion edition and with the help of this ability, Each successful attack from this monster reduces the defender’s melee attack by 1 and on the other hand, with the Dodge ability this monster gets +25% higher chance of evading an enemy melee or ranged attack. So you can clearly see that monster will be very useful even at bronze league levels.
SILVER
As you upgrade this card to level, it receives an increased stat of 4 melee attack power at 5 speed with 6 armour and 9 health. Not only that, but it also gets a new ability at this level called Reflection Shield with which, this monster won't take damage coming from Magic Reflect, Thorns and Return Fire. So now you get a new defensive ability with more attack power and other stats which justify its mana cost.
GOLD
When this monster gets upgraded to level 6, it gets an increased stats of 4 melee attack power at 5 speed with 7 armour and 10 health. Though it does not get any new ability at this level, its increased armour and health stats will surely help you stay longer on the battlefield.
DIAMOND / CHAMPION
Finally, when you upgrade this beast to its max level of 8, it gets an increased stats of 5 melee attack at 6 speed with 7 armour and 10 health at last, it also gets a new ability called Backfire when reaching its max level. With the help of this new ability, this monster will now send 2 melee damage if any enemy monster misses their attack upon this card. At max level, it really becomes a huge armoured giant with a large 5 attack at high 6 speed and with a good combo of health and armour along with good defensive abilities, which makes it a useful choice for High mana limit matches,
This time I received a high 46 mana limit match where 4 elements were allowed to choose from - Fire, Earth, Water and Death and there were also 2 rulesets applied in this match called - Lost Magic (no magic monster will be available in this match) and Four’s Crowd ( only 4 monsters can be used in this match). For this match, obviously, I wanted to choose high mana monsters and after thinking of a suitable strategy, I came out with an idea to use melee attacks with range support and started building my lineup accordingly.
For this match, I chose Possibilus the Wise as my summoner and at my front position, I chose the Commander Slade followed by Arkemis the Bear, Kulu Mastermind and the Delya at my last position. Now When both the lineups got revealed later, I found out that my opponent had chosen the Legendary Fire summoner Conquror Jecek and at the front position of his lineup, he chose the Grum Flameblade followed by Lava Launcher, Countess Sinash and Coeurl Lurker at the end position of my lineup.
As the battle began, no monsters died at the first round but I was able to broke the Grum’s armour and also wounded the Coeurl Lurker down to 5 health, while he wounded my Delya and also left only 1 armour on Slade. Finally, in round 3, my Kulu got the first kill by taking down the Coeurl followed by Near who killed down the bear next and then launched a second attack to the Lava and decreased its range attack to 2 with Halving ability and then at round 4, my Kulu again attacked and killed Down the Lava and then launched another attack and killed the Countess also an thus, I won another great match.
