Splinterlands | DRYBONE HOBGOBLIN is a great choice for low mana matches

(edited)

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!

I hope all of you are doing well in life and also eagerly waiting for the upcoming weekend. For those of you who play splinterlands on a daily basis and seriously build your card collection and grow your account, I guess right now you are focusing on your seasonal progress right now and pushing your trophy count. Time moves faster in the world of splinterlands because if you look at the currently ranked season timer, you will find that there are only around 7 days left for this ongoing season to meet its end. So whatever goals you have set for yourself this season, either to reach a certain league tier or to secure a glorious spot in the Champion leaderboard, I guess you all are fighting well to achieve that tight now. But, be sure to reach there as soon as possible, as during the last 2 or 3 days, the arena will literally become a bloodbath as all the OG players from around the world will become Online. Now looking at myself, right now I am standing at the Diamond I league tier with a current trophy count of 3,460 and still need another 240 more trophies to reach the Champion League, which is my goal for every season. Now let’s see how fast I can get there this time.

Moving forward, let me now come to the main topic of this post as today, I will be talking about another amazing monster with you all. As you have already seen in the thumbnail above, today I will be showcasing the DRYBONE HOBGOBLIN. So, if you are interested, let’s take a dive without any further ado.

DRYBONE HOBGOBLIN

DRYBONE HOBGOBLIN is a monster type card that was introduced in the game with the launch of the latest edition reward card set and this monster falls under the Rebellion edition. This monster card belongs to the Fire element and its attack type is Melee. By rarity, this is a common type of card, so you will require a total of 400 BCXs of cards in order to upgrade this card to its maximum level. It costs only 4 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily choose this monster card in your lineup when playing small to medium-mana limit matches or the ones with Little League ruleset. Now, apart from a decent melee attack at good speed with a large health, this monster also comes with 3 abilities that I am going to discuss later in this post. Let us now take a deeper look into this card’s league wise stats and abilities below to find out more.

BRONZE

At level 3, this monster card possesses 1 melee attack power at 4 speed with 4 health and it also gets 2 abilities called Reach and Immunity since its initial level. While with the help of the Reach ability, it can attack from the second position of your lineup and on the other hand, the Immunity ability will provide immunity from magic debuffs and Cripple Ability. So even at the bronze level, you get a good defensive attacker for only 4 mana cost.

SILVER

As this monster gets upgraded to level 5, its stats get increased to 2 melee attack power at 4 speed with 5 health along with those 2 abilities that I mentioned above. Though it does not get any new abilities, its increased melee attack power will help you to kill down enemy cards faster while the increased health will protect this monster a little longer.

GOLD

When you upgrade this monster further to level 8, then its stats increase a little more as it now receives 2 melee Attack power at 5 speed with 6 health. Not only that, but it also does get a new ability at this level called Shatter. With this new ability, whenever this monster successfully attacks, it will break the whole Armour on that enemy card.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when this monster card hets upgraded to its max level of 10, it possesses a further increased 3 melee attack power at 5 speed with 7 health along with those 3 abilities, but sadly it does not get any new abilities at its max level. But, that won’t bother you, as its 3 melee attack with high speed coupled with Shatter can kill down even the big ones very quickly.

Battle Link

BATTLE STAT

This time, I got a medium 27 mana limit match where there were only 2 elements allowed to choose from in this match - Fire and Dragon. There were also 3 rulesets applied in this match - Even Stevens (you can only summon units with even mana cost), Noxious Fumes (all units start the battle poisoned and lose 2 health at the start of every round) and Aim True (all units gets the True Strike ability). Now, if you look at all the rules and limitations, the main damage that the monsters will primarily get is from the Noxious Fumes ability, so I decided to use multiple Immunity ability monsters and also thought to use melee attackers to take down enemy units. So, as thought, I started building my lineup accordingly.

For this match, first of all, I selected the legendary Dragon summoner Akane with Fire cards and at the first position of my lineup, I chose the Grimbardun Smith followed by the Drybone Hobgoblin, Mad Ogre Anarchist, Scorch Fiend, Doctor Blight and the Venator Kinjo at the end position of my lineup. Anyway, when both the lineup was revealed, I found out that the opponent had used the legendary Dragon summoner Quix the Devious and at his first position, he chose Arkamis the Bear followed by the Drybone Hobgoblin, Vruz, Scorch Fiend, Scavo Chemist and the Naga Assassin at the end position of his lineup.

As the match began, the enemy Vruz killed Down my Scorch Fiend in the very first round, followed by my Ogre who broke down the armor of the enemy Fiend and at the beginning of the second round, both the enemy fiend and the Scavo Chemist died due to the poison effect. My Doctor Blight attacked and applied poison upon the cleansed Arkemis. Then at the beginning of round 3, my Drybone Hobgoblin attacked and killed down the wounded Arkemis, followed by my Ogre who killed down the Naga Assassin. At this point, only the enemy Drybone Hobgoblin was alive on the opponent’s lineup, but I took care of it also with my Doctor Blight at round 4 and finally, I won this awesome match!
