Splinterlands | Blackmoor Jinx is a 1 mana Devil monster

(edited)

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!

I hope all of you are doing well in life and also playing this awesome strategy game in your daily free time. For those who play this game on a daily basis, I guess all of you are currently busy pushing your trophy rating while fighting and taking down your opponents. As the current ranked season is only about to end in less than 6 days, we don't have much time left. So, make sure to utilize every bit of it and reach your goals as soon as possible, whether it is to enter a particular league tier or to secure a place in the Champion leaderboard.

On the other hand, just recently splinterlands announced an upcoming gameplay format called ‘Survival Mode’ and it will be a new ranked play format in addition to the current modern and wild format. It will be similar to the wild format but there will be 2 interesting changes in the gameplay format which will change the gameplay style entirely. First, there will be no energy limit in these matches and second, once a card of your collection dies in the battles, that card can't be used anymore for a certain period of time. The real challenge here will be how far a player can go with his collection and the more cards you have in your collection, the more battles you can possibly win and maintain a streak. I think this update will bring a whole new level of enjoyment into the game and if this update becomes a hit, players will possibly try to collect more cards willingly to increase their win chance. I will be eagerly waiting for this particular update to get launched in the game and let’s see how it affects the game economy.

Now moving on, let me come toward the main topic of this post as today, I will be talking about another amazing card with you all and as you have already seen it in the thumbnail above, today I will be showcasing the Blackmoor Jinx. So if you are interested, let’s take a dive without any further ado.

Blackmoor Jinx

BLACKMOOR JINX is a monster type card and this monster came into the game with the launch of the latest Reward card set and falls under the Rebellion edition. This monster belongs to the Earth element and it is a Legendary type card, so it will require a total of 11 BCXs of cards to upgrade this monster to max level. The main advantage of this card is its mana cost, as this monster only costs 1 mana to be used in battles. So, you can easily put this monster in your lineup even when playing the lowest energy limit matches (like that 12 energy limit one). Thus monster’s attack type is ranged and considering its mana cost, it does come with decent stats and also holds an ability which I will be talking about later in this post. Let us now take a further look at its league-wise stats and abilities to find out more about this little monster below.

BRONZE

At level 1, this monster possesses 1 range attack power at 2 speed with 2 health and also gets the Snipe ability since its initial level. With the help of the Sniper ability, this monster can target the first non-melee enemy monster that is not in the first position. The stats may look low but please consider its mana cost and coupling this monster with one or 2 more Sniper cards, you can get awesome results.

SILVER

When you upgrade this monster to level 2, it receives the same 1 ranged attack power at 2 speed but with an increased 3 health. Though it does not get any new abilities at this level, the increased health can endure multiple small attacks before going down.

GOLD

As this monster reaches level 3, here also it gets the same 1 ranged attack power but at an increased 3 speed with 3 health but no new abilities. The increased speed will help you to attack enemy monsters faster and it really matters and in some cases becomes a winning factor.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its max level 4, it gets the most important stats increment as its range attack power finally increases to 2 with the same 3 speed and 3 health. But sadly even at its max level, it does not get any new ability. But getting a 2 attack power monster for just 1 mana cost covers it well, so I don't have any complaints against it.

BATTLE STAT

This monster is best suited for low energy limit matches, and luckily this time I got the lowest 12 energy limit match and thought to use this monster. In this match there were 4 elements allowed - Fire, Life, Earth and Dragon and there were also 3 rulesets applied in this match - Weak Magic (Magic attacks hit armor before reducing health), Are you not Entertained (you can use one more Gladiator card) and Ferocity (All units have Fury ability). After looking at all these rules and limitations, I thought to use a couple of small mana monsters at the front to defend for a couple of rounds and place some more low-mana attackers to kill down the enemy cards. So as thought, I started building my lineup accordingly. First, I chose the Earth summoner Obsidian and at the first place of my lineup, I placed the Halfling Refugee followed by Chaos Agent, Fungus Fiend, Doctor Blight, Cutter Brieze and the Blackmoor Jinx at the end position.

When both the lineups were revealed, I found out that my opponent had chosen the Life summoner Ilthain and at his front defense position, he chose the Vulguine followed by Soul Fiend, Celestial Harpy, Dax Paragon and finally the Xenith Archer at the end position.

As the battle started, my Doctor Blight killed the Vulguine with one blow but 3 monsters of mine - Refugee, Fiend and Jinx were also wounded. In the second round, my Cutter killed down the Soul Fiend and increased all its stats. Then, the enemy Harpy killed my Refugee followed by my Jinx who attacked the Dax but sadly, the return fire killed it down. The Dax then attacked my Chaos but missed and died due to the backfire damage and then my Doctor wounded the Harpy down to 1 health. Next at round 3, the cutter missed its attack on Harpy and both Harpy and Xenith killed down my Chaos. But then my Fiend got angry and surprisingly killed down the wounded Harpy. At this point, only the poor Xenith archer was alive and my Doctor easily took it down and thus, I won another match.

I hope you loved watching the battle with Blackmoor Jinx and also liked reading my battle post. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below and I will be seeing you all in my next post.

I wish you all good luck with all of your future Splinterlands matches.
