Splinterlands End of Season 96

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!

Modern season 96 has just finished. I wasn't able to play much but I still earned around 20k Glints and now have a over 100k Glints in my balance. I don't have enough for legendary cards purchase so I'll use them to buy some epic cards.

Epic Reward Chests Purchase

I have been buying legendary chests in the previous seasons but today, I'll be buying epic chests instead. First, I bought alchemy potions to increase my chances of getting gold foils. I appreciate the 5% discount I got from our guild building. I bought six chests but not lucky enough to get a gold foil.

Tandi Janda is a melee card with Wingbreak ability. He gets upgraded to level two. He gains one speed stat and the Slow ability. It's a useful debuff ability that decreases the speed of all enemy units.

I wanted to level up Kazira Vaelstrik but I didn't get a copy of her. All my epic cards so far. My deck is improving nicely each season.

Featured Battle

The battle included my new favorite frontline combo: Doomshield Warden and Drybone Raider.

The ruleset included Reverse Speed which rewards slow units. I chose the Earth splinter led by the elf archon. She debuffs the enemy's magic attacks and grants the Execute ability to elves. My team was composed of the following units.

Doomshield Warden

Doomshield Warden is a strong tank. He has the Flank ability that grants Reach to the second position unit. He's the perfect combo partner to the legendary Drybone Raider.

Drybone Raider

The Drybone Raider is a legendary reward card from the Chaos Legion set. He deals dual damage of range and melee plus he has the Double Strike ability. This means that he attacks four times in a round giving him a huge offensive potential given the right conditions. Having gained the Reach ability means that he can reach his full offensive potential to destroy enemies.

Forlorn Geomant

I've recently written a post about the Forlorn Geomant. He deals huge magic damage but he's rather slow with only one speed. In the Reverse Speed ruleset, his lack of speed becomes an asset.

Grove Doomblade

Grove Doomblade is another unit with huge attack but is very slow. Similar to Forlorn Geomant, her lack of speed makes her the fastest unit in Reverse Speed ruleset.

Sorrow Harvester

Sorrow Harvester is from the Frontier set. She only deals two magic damage but has the Weaken ability that decreases the enemy's health by one.

Silverleaf Mage

Finally I have the Silverleaf Mage in last position. Her Taunt ability is important to draw attacks away from my frontline and damage dealers. She is also a decent damage dealer herself with three range attack.

The enemy had the legendary dragon Nidhoggr for his archon. His tank was Terraceous Hulk from the Chaos Legion set. It has anti magic ability, Void Armor and also has the Taunt ability. His damage dealers were mostly magic units including the ones granted the Blast ability by Nidhoggr. Thankfully, my archon debuffed magic attacks. The battle could have gone in favor of the enemy if they were not debuffed.
