Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Community Engagement Challenge! A new and exciting promo card will be available soon. It's called Yaba's Pickle. It's a four mana no attack card. I can see that it will be a decent tank in low mana battles.

Yaba's Pickle Stats and Abilities

Yaba's Pickle has no attack but it has good defensive stats. It's abilities are geared towards sustainability and debuffing the enemy. At level three it has Dodge which gives it a chance to avoid physical attacks. At level five it will gain the Shield ability, decreasing damage from melee and ranged attacks. At level eight, it can slow down the enemy and at max level, it will gain the Heal ability for more sustainability.

How to Acquire Yaba's Pickle

There are three ways to acquire Yaba's Pickle. Through SPS staking, crafting gold foil raffle tickets and through Black Foil Arcane auction.

SPS Staking

The Splinterlands team will take a snapshot of all SPS stakers in the game. For every 1,000 SPS staked, players will be eligible to buy Yaba's Pickle for 150 DEC or CREDITS. So the more you stake, the more cards you can buy for a cheap price. I already bought some SPS and staked it in preparation for the promo.

Gold Foil Raffle Ticket

This phase will begin 7 days after the sale ends. For each ticket crafted during this round, you'll receive a Regular Foil Yaba's Pickle and one raffle ticket for a chance to win a Gold Foil copy. Fifty Gold Foil cards are up for grabs and will be raffled each day. A ticket can be crafted for 200 Aura, 10 Vouchers, and 200 DEC.

Auction

The Black Foil Arcane Auction will begin within 7 days after the Gold Raffle concludes. Cards will be awarded starting from the highest numbered card down to the lowest. Twenty Black Foil Arcane cards will be auctioned at a rate of one card daily. Each auction will last for twenty five hours. Auction points will be the exclusive bidding currency for the auction and can be crafted for 1,000 Aura, 50 Vouchers and 500 DEC.

Preparing for Yaba's Pickle

For myself, I plan to have a level three Yaba's Pickle. At level three it will have two speed, two armor and five health. It will also have the Dodge ability. I plan to use it as a frontline or rear tank. I already staked 14,000 SPS to be eligible to purchase fourteen copies for two thousand one hundred DEC or CREDITS. I didn't have that much SPS in my game account so I had to convert some liquid Hive to SPS.

First I converted liquid hive to swap.hive.

Next, I converted swap.hive to SPS. My two hundred thirty two (232) hive was converted to five thousand nine hundred fifty five (5,955) SPS.

Then, I transferred the SPS in hive-engine to ingame.

The last step was to stake my liquid SPS. Staking SPS gives an additional benefit in that it increases my SPS earned from winning rank battles. My boost was increased from 5.46 to 7.26.

My current staked SPS stands at 14,000 SPS.

I'm still on the fence if I will join the raffle. It's not a bad deal since you're getting a regular foil for each raffle ticket crafted. Winning the gold foil raffle is just a bonus. It's a great deal for a slight increase in price.

Final Thoughts

The Splinterlands team continue to surprise us with great promos. Yaba's Pickle is another exciting and fun way to find utility for SPS and DEC. Yaba's Pickle is a good card for collection and it's utility is not bad either. I'm already assured to be eligible for fourteen copies. If I have additional funds then I may buy more or join the raffle. The auction is too costly for me though so I will abstain from it.
