Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Conclave Arcana New Cards and Abilities

Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Community Engagement Challenge! The Conclave Arcana Pre-Sale has finally started and currently ongoing. It will end in about two weeks from now. To date, packs with a total cost of over eight hundred fifty thousand dollars ($850,000) have been sold, a marked success and a new era for Splinterlands.

Looking Forward to the New Cards and Abilities

In previous posts, I talked about the Conclave Arcana set. I covered the archons, new foils and promo cards. Today, let's talk about the new cards that have been revealed. Let's also checkout the new abilities that will come with the new set.

Halfshell Seer

Halfshell Seer is a rare, neutral card. At maxed level, it deals massive ranged damage of five. It also has four speed, two armor and six health. It only needs four mana to field in battle so this can be used in Little League rulesets. It has an impressive damage potential but it comes with a drawback: it has the Reckless ability which deals one damage to adjacent allied units. The strategy I'm thinking with this card is to put it adjacent to a card with Martyr ability.

Happy Quokka

The Happy Quokka is another four mana card. It a Light splinter card that deals four melee damage, has three speed and seven health at maxed level. It has the Weapons Training, Opportunity and Oppress abilities. This is a great card to put adjacent to tanks with no attacks like Baakjira or Pelacor Conjurer.

Tidal Tsunamist

The Tidal Tsunamist is a common, Water splinter card. At maxed level, it deals a high melee damage of four, has four speed and seven health. It has the Sneak ability which is a great complement to its high melee damage. It also has a nice support skill, Repair that can sustain the team's tank. A third ability, Fury will be a great weapon against enemy units with Taunt.

Caravan Guard

Caravan Guard is a common Light splinter card. At maxed level, its damage is very modest at two ranged damage. However, this card is more of a support card than a damage dealer. It has Triage ability that heals its backline allies. It also has Headwinds that debuffs enemy ranged attackers. More importantly, it has the new powerful ability, Echo. Echo allows active skills Repair and Healing activate twice per round! That is a very powerful support skill that will sustain the whole team. Imagine a card like Nimbledook Explorer who has both Repair and Heal abilities activating the its abilities twice per round. The team will be hard to kill if not immortal. I personally would like to have this card at maxed level.

Palifala Weslinath

Palifala Weslinath is a legendary Light splinter card. At only six mana, it has great stats and packed with abilities. It deals three ranged damage but a bit slow with two speed. It has three armor and five health for sustainability. It has four abilities including two old abilities Sneak and Close Ranged. In addition, it has two powerful abilities. First, it has Mimic that made Olivia of the Brook my favorite card. It's an ability that is fun to watch as the card copies enemy abilities as the fight progresses. It also has Resurgence, allowing Palifala to self-resurrect once per battle with 100% health and armor. These are two broken abilities granted in one card. The Light splinter is proving to be the strongest so far based on the cards revealed.

Mahkah Hemlig

Mahkah Hemlig is another legendary card. She deals four magic damage, has four speed and six health. She has the Opportunity ability making her a hazard to enemy low health units. She also has the Scavenger ability, increasing her health for each unit (enemy or allied) eliminated. For support, she has the Triage ability that heals allied backline units. She also has the Deflect ability making her immune to Blast and Reflect damage.

Final Thoughts

The new cards are an exciting new addition to Splinterlands. Along with the archons, this will totally change the meta and old strategies have to be changed and new ones need to be learned and discovered. As for me, I'm planning to spend 40,000 DEC on ten standard packs to secure one BCX of the rare promo card, Arcane Skinwalker.
