Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge! A few days ago, some details about #ConclaveArcana was announced by the Splinterlands team and it has a lot of players excited. Conclave Arcana features new cards, new abilities and Black foils and even animated card designs.

New Cards and New Abilities

Conclave Arcana features new cards and abilities like Jicarilla the Rime above. The card now includes the character's race which will be important in the game. It also shows the card's mint number for die hard collectors who goes after low mint cards and particular numbers like 69 and 420. I'm not familiar with the new abilities yet but this will usher in new meta and will completely change strategies going forward.

Summoner/Archon Abilities

Summoner cards are now called Archons to differentiate with players (us) who are the summoners. The recently revealed summoners like Bella Ratajowlski (a Polish hippo?) has two buffs it can provide the team. One buff to the whole team and another buff for the same race as the archon, in Bella's case, Ulund. All Ulund units will receive an extra buff "Shield" in addition to the "Deflect" ability.

Black Foil

Conclave Arcana will now include Black Foils aside from the usual Gold Foils. Black Foils are very rare and will be a lucky pull since they are already at maxed level! Black Foil cards can take the place of Gold Foil cards in brawls and tournaments. Black Foils also offers other benefits such as:

1. +20% Reward bonus in ranked battles
2. Half the cooldown of Gold Foil cards in Survival Mode
3. 5x the DEC burn value (Who would burn a Black Foil though? 😅😅😅), Collection Power, and Contribution in Conflicts of Gold Foils .
4. 5x base Production Point multiplier same as Beta cards.

Arcane Versions

The new Conclave Arcana set also features new versions of Gold and Black Foils called Arcane. These Arcane version are ultra-rare cards and features animated designs, a feature I've been dreaming of in Splinterlands cards.

Starter Set

Another unique new feature of Conclave Arcana is the starter set costing only $1. With this set, players can easily come into the game without investing too much. Common and rare cards including archons will be easier to max out making it easier for players with limited budgets to have competitive decks.

Impact on SPS and DEC

Since Conclave Arcana has been announced, we have seen spikes in prices of DEC and SPS. It seems we can claim that #splinterlands is back on track as the one of the top #play2earn games not just on hive-engine but on the whole crypto as well.

A New Era for Splinterlands

Conclave Arcana seems like a new game altogether, with the new cards, abilities and designs. It takes over from the previous Splinterlands game and ushers in a new era for Splinterlands and #play2earn gaming. Old players like me are excited for the coming new set and we can expect a wave of new players to come in.
