Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Community Engagement Challenge! Today, I'll share how I build a team with synergy in my battles. Teams with synergy are more likely to win battles.
Synergy is defined as the combination of different elements to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their parts.
In Splinterlands terms, it would mean that we should create teams that will raise their effectiveness in battle with the combination of their individual stats and abilities. Take for example the following battle consisting of four units.
A Splinterlands team is typically composed of:
I have a beefy tank with eight armor and twelve health. It can also fly increasing his chances to dodge. He also can also heal himself further increasing his sustainability. Additionally, he is not just a tank, he is a great damage dealer too, able to deal twelve melee damage in one hit because of his Recharge ability. On second position, I have a unit that deals three magic damage and can also heal my backline units with her Triage ability. In third, I have a support unit that can repair my tank's shield while also dealing two magic damage. In last position I have another magic damage dealing unit who can attract enemy attacks with his Taunt ability. He is also tanky with twelve health and has the Void ability to decrease magic damage from enemy hits. Iziar will do two magic damage himself while being healed by Djinn Renova.
This is my basic set up and team composition whether it's only four units or six. Each individual member has a role to play to win the battle. They sustain each other while doing damage to the enemy team. I won this battle without suffering any losses.
Do you get the idea of "SYNERGY" yet? Let's see another battle.
In this battle, I employed the same strategy. I have my beefy tank in the first position supported by Adelaide Brightwing who repairs his armor while she does two magic damage herself. In the last position I have Iziar who attracts enemy fire with his Taunt ability while he also does two magic damage. Iziar is again supported by Djinn Renova who heals him with her Triage ability while she does three magic damage to the enemy. In second position I have my reserve tank in case Uriel gets eliminated. The Night Reaper is also beefy and does three magic damage. In fifth I have another unit that does three ranged damage.
My opponent's units are also strong but I won again easily, losing only one unit in battle. Let's check out another battle, this time adjusting my team composition to take advantage of the ruleset.
In the following battle, the ruleset was Noxious Fumes and allows only a maximum of thirty five mana so it will not be possible to field in Uriel and Iziar. For the tank, I picked the Imperial Knight instead. Similar to Uriel, he can heal himself and has decent armor and health. In second position, I placed the Venari Marksrat, whose job is to buff the stats of units close to him with his Martyr ability when he gets eliminated. In third, we have Adelaide Brightwing again who fulfills her usual role but she also has the Immunity ability making her unaffected by Poison. In third, we have Djinn Renova again who not only heals but also Strengthens the whole team with one health. An additional health my prove crucial in Noxious Fumes ruleset. In last position is a unit I use only in the Noxious Fumes ruleset: Luceheim Demon. His role is to Cleanse my tank with his ability, making the tank immune to Poison as well. On top of that, Lucy can also deal three ranged damage to the enemy backliners with his Snipe ability.
The battle was not easy since my opponent has a well made team as well. He also has a strong tank, a Djinn Renova and Adelaide Brightwing. He has more team members than mine with six while I only have five units but his units have less health compared to mine making them more susceptible to Poison. It was a tough battle and I was only left with two units in the end.
In the battles I featured, I showed how a typical Splinterlands team works together to defeat the enemy. We choose individual units who can fulfill roles in battle either they are tanks, damage dealers, or support units. Each splinter has units that fulfill their roles and it's up to us players to determine the optimal team composition in battle. This is what makes Splinterlands a fun game to play. Sure, they may be key cards but no single card can carry a battle. A team must be formed, helping each individual members while destroying the enemy team.
