Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!
Shadowcomb Duskrose is a Common jackpot card. It is a dual splinter unit that can be played with both the Death and Fire splinters, making it a flexible choice for deck building. Despite its Common rarity, it is a heavy hitting melee attacker that can rival even legendary cards. In today's post, well go through her lore, stats & abilities and show a battle where she's used effectively.

Shae'lira Ilyndra (Shadowcomb Rose) was to unite two powerful noble houses through marriage, but the wedding was a trap by House Zol'naeth to eliminate her family (like the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones). She escaped the massacre that killed her family and she wandered into the depths of Shadowcomb. There, she discovered Gravesong, a cursed double headed axe that corrodes metal and destroys her enemies. Driven by and vengeance, she trained in isolation and began hunting those responsible for House Ilyndra's downfall leaving dead victims behind her. Known as the Last Daughter and the Shadowcomb Duskrose, she became a feared legend who stalks the shadows in her wedding gown, eliminating the ones that destroyed her family. Though she can never restore her house, she is determined to tear down everyone that enabled its destruction.

Shadowcomb Duskrose is an eight mana common card of Death and Fire splinters. At maxed levels, she has impressive stats dealing a huge six melee damage. She also has nine health but slow with only one speed. She has four useful abilities in her kit.
Charge allows her to attack from any position.
Rust debuffs the enemy armor.
Fury deals double damage to Taunt units.
Finally, Ambush allows her to attack before the first round of battle.
She has an impressive stats and abilities for a common card. The downside is she is common that means it will take four hundred copies to max her out and that could cost a lot considering her rarity being a jackpot card.

In this battle, player NMX had a team led by a Frontier archon against a team led by Nidhoggr and included the legendary Zyrx the Emberglace. NMX's team included Shadowcomb Duskrose and it looked like he was at a disadvantage in this battle given the enemy's powerful lineup.
The funny thing in this battle was the enemy gave the tactics ability from NIdhoggr to NMX's units including Shadowcomb Duskrose giving them an increase in speed and Execute ability. I guess the increase in speed is a debuff in this case because of the Reverse Speed ruleset but still, giving your enemy the powerful Execute ability was too much of a gamble. NMX's enemy lost this battle inspite of his stronger line up.

Shadowcomb Duskrose is maybe slow but she makes up for it with her devastating damage potential. Her abilities that combine Charge, Rust, Fury and Ambush allows her to contribute damage from any position while debuffing enemy armor. For a Common card, she has an impressive offensive kit and can become a your main damage dealer.
