Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!
Our guild has just concluded our latest brawl. We improved to fifth rank rank this week, up one rung compared to last week's sixth place. In today’s post, I’ll break down our overall results, highlight my personal performance, and showcase one of my favorite battles.

We improved our ranking to fifth place this week compared to last week's sixth rank. Fellow immortal guild, Immortal Army was up in second place. For a moment I thought it was us who landed in second place but not so, lol.

My own battle record improved by a lot. I won seven battles and lost only one. Each of us who joined the brawl earned 5.5k merits and 61 SPS.

The battle I will show today featured one of my favorite gladiator cards, Xulax Nightwind. The ruleset included Heavy Metal which allows only units with armor and Close Range. My team was led by the dragon archon Kavor Skarn and the splinter I chose was Death. The rest of my team were as follows.
Xulax Nightwind is a legendary tank that combines offense and defense. He deals four melee damage and has a speed of three. On defense, he has seven armor and seven health. More importantly, he has the Void Armor ability that gives him added defense against magic attackers. He also has Thorns that punishes melee attackers.
Grimshield Hexpriest is a strong magic damage dealer. He has three attack and has the Apex Strike ability, targeting the enemy with the most power. He also has Magic Reflect, making him a good tank in Wands Out rulesets.
Night Reaper is a versatile unit that makes it great in several rulesets especially Earthquake. It deals three magic damage and has four speed. He has an armor and ten health on defense making it an alternative tank. He has many useful abilities like Flying, Wingbreak and Deflect.
Chaos Battle Mage is a legendary range card. She deals three range damage, has an armor, five health and four speed. Her Piercing ability will be useful in this ruleset as excess damage can go through armor.
Deep Delver is another range unit that deals three damage. I chose him because of his Rust ability that will debuff the enemy's armor and thus make them easier to defeat.
Syrenth is a regular whenever I use the dragon splinter. She deals four range damage, has an armor, nine health and three speed. Her most useful abilities are Taunt and Dodge. She draws enemy attack while having the chance to evade physical attacks.
The enemy had a dual splinter archon but provides on buff to the units. He used a combination of Earth and magic and his gladiator card was Marisol Contuma, a powerful melee unit. My tank did a good job absorbing attacks while my back line units were doing damage. Syrenth also did her part by drawing attacks thus making my tank stay longer in battle while leaving my damage dealers safe. Soon the enemy units were defeated and my team took the victory in this battle.
