Our Recent Guild Brawl and Featured Battle

Our guild has just finished another brawl. We had a good brawl this week ending in fourht place. Last week was terrible, placing second to the last in the standings. In today’s post, I’ll break down our overall results, highlight my personal performance, and showcase one of my favorite battles.
Guild Rank and Personal Performance
Our brawl results continue to be erratic. Last week we were ninth, this week we rose five places and ended in fourth. I wish we will be more consistent and keep our place high in the rankings.
My personal brawl performance was good. I won seven battles and only lost two. Each of us who joined the brawl earned 5.1k merits and 55 SPS. It's a huge chunk of my weekly SPS earnings so I make it a point to join brawls.
Featured Battle
I liked this battle because I was up against a formidable enemy. The battle was Reverse Speed ruleset. I had the Dragon archon Kavor Skarn and death splinter units. My team was composed of the following units.
Xulax Nightwind
Xulax Nightwind is one of my favorite gladiator cards. He is a tank that combines offense and defense. He boasts of four melee attack and three speed. He has seven armor and health on defense. His abilities complement his defense against magic and melee attacks. Void Armor uses his armor to block magic and Thorns returns melee attacks.
Grim Bonewhip
Grim Bonewhip is a reliable reward card. He deals a decent two melee damage, has two speed which is great in the current ruleset and has four health. He has Reach ability and Rust that debuffs the enemy's armor.
Arachne Weaver
Arachne Weaver is a regular whenever I use Death. It's Corrupted Healing is simply a strong ability to sustain the team. It also has two magic damage to contribute to the team's offense.
Careless Badger
Careless Badger deals three range damage for only three mana cost. He's a glass cannon having only one health so it has to be placed in the middle of the pack.
Kyraseth Nythlarian
Kyraseth Nythlarian is a zero mana card that plays a key role in low mana battles. She deals one melee damage and has the Opportunity ability. Her one speed stat means she is the fastest unit in this ruleset.
The enemy's team is formidable. It was led by the legendary archon Dragonlord Mancer whom I wrote about in a previous post. In addition, he had four legendary cards in his team. His archon grants powerful abilities Bloodlust and Corrupted Healing to two units. He also grants the Scavenger ability to Saurians and Bruteborns. At first glance, it looks like my team is at a disadvantage.
It was a tough battle because the opponent had stronger cards and their Scavenger abilities help increase their health. My Arachne Weaver kept the team together by healing my tank and Grim Bonewhip. Also, bloodlust triggered multiple times for my gladiator giving him more power as the battle raged on. Finally, my team pulled of the victory. It was a tough but fun battle.
