Our Recent Guild Brawl and Featured Battle

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!

Our guild has just finished our latest brawl. We finished in sixth place this week, a bit of an improvement from last week's seventh place finish. In today’s post, I’ll break down our overall results, highlight my personal performance, and showcase one of my favorite battles.

Guild Rank and Personal Performance

We improved our position to sixth place this week from last week's seventh place finish. We won ninety battles and lost eighty one for a more than fifty per cent win rate. We earned one hundred one crowns that we can use to upgrade our buildings.

My personal performance is still good with seven wins out of nine battles. Each of us who joined the brawl earned 5.3 merits and 48 SPS, still a decent reward for playing brawls.

Featured Battle

Today's featured battle is a great fight between competing styles. I had the Earth team led by Kaylia Silverleaf archon. Doomshield Warden took the first position. He deals a high melee damage of four and grants the Reach ability to the second position unit so I had Quora take that place. From second position, Quora can use her dual attack and deal damage to the enemy tank. She also received the Shield ability from the third position unit, Virid Venomancer. It's a good combo to give another layer of defense to Quora. My next three units were elves that attack the enemy's back line. This is a fortunate strategy as I will show later.

The enemy chose a team that seems to counter my units. First, he had the legendary gladiator card, Xulax Nightwind. I call this card the anti Quora since he has the tools to repel her. He deals high melee damage himself and has great defense. His two abilities Void Armor and Thorns both defend against Quora's dual attack of magic and melee. In second position, he had a unit with Silence that decreased the magic attack of my unit and in third, he had Dark Arborist who has the ability to decrease my melee attacks. In fourth is Calamity, a high magic damage dealer who has the Electrified debilitation similar to Shock Trooper. It combos well with the Dark Arborist who has the Painforge ability. Next is a powerful healer, Arachne Weaver, who can heal all units in a round. I myself like this unit and use it whenever I had the Death splinter. Lastly, he had a Taunt unit that worked well with Arachne Weaver.

The enemy team had a lot of counters and debuffs. He also had a Taunt and healer unit combo. My first task was to defeat his Taunt unit and then his healer with my Sneak attackers. Meanwhile, My Doomshield Warden and Quora team up to defeat the enemy's Xulax Nightwind. It was not easy because of the Arachne Weaver's healing. Thankfully I had three elves in the team who had the Execute ability. They immediately defeat a unit whose health goes down to two and below. My advantage on offense beat the enemy's debuffs and healing.
