Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!
Magic is especially effective in the lower levels because there's not much abilities unlocked to counter them yet. I've been using magic teams Water with the Frontier archon Marlai Singariel who buffs the team's magic attack. However, this team can be formed in all splinters. In today's post, I'll be highlighting the Death splinter magic team I'm using in Silver and Gold Leagues and how they can be effective in battle.

For players with limited budget, Thalgrimore is good enough. True, he is weaker than the core set or legendary archons but he is cheap to have at Silver and Gold levels. Even a max gold foil version will cost below $2. Compare that to the core set archons and you'll see the difference. He's not that bad as he debuffs the enemy team by decreasing their health by one. Combo it with another Frontier card, Sorrow Harvester and you already decreased the enemy's health by two even before the battle starts.

I have a decent magic deck in my Death splinter that I use in battles interchangeably. Often I also use units from the Neutral splinter.
I recently bought and upgraded the Grimshield Hexpriest to level four. At this level he deals a high magic damage of three. He also has the Apex Strike ability that targets the enemy unit with the most power. To punish enemy magic attackers, he has the Magic Reflect ability.
Graybeard Warlock is a reward card that I also recently upgraded to four. He also has a high magic attack of three and has the Swiftness ability to increase the speed of the team. At level four, he gained the powerful Execute ability that allows him to hit his target a second time when its health drops to two or below.
I use the Dark Arborist in low mana battles. It deals decent magic damage and has two abilities. Demoralized decreases the enemy melee attack and Magic Reflect to return the enemy's magic attack.
The Arachne Weaver is a key card in many battles. It has a dual purpose of sustaining the team with its Corrupted Healing ability and it's also a card good for survival rulesets because of its Scavenger ability. It's health increases as enemy and allied units die.
Silverleaf Warlock is from the core set. It deals decent damage and has the Swiftness ability. I pair it with Gravebrand Warlock to increase the team's speed by two and enjoy the advantage of attacking first.
These two cards have similar attack stats and abilities. I often use these cards together in Earthquake rulesets because of their flying ability.
The Sorrow Harvester is an epic card from the Frontier set. She deals decent damage and decreases the enemy's health with its Weaken ability. She's a good card to pair with the archon as they decrease the enemy team's health by two.

I used most of the cards mentioned above in this battle save for the neutral card, Mindless Thrall. It also deals three magic damage and good to combo with the other magic units with three attack stats. I used the Escalation set card Doomshield Warden as my tank.
The enemy also used a Death magic team that I didn't anticipate. In this case, he chose the better tank, Ujurak Brave. He's a key card in this battle because he decreases my team's magic attack with his Silence ability. On the other hand, my tank's ten health will quickly be decimated by the enemy team's strong magic attack.
The early round were rough as my tank was quickly defeated. Grimshield Hexpriest took the tank role and returned some damage with his Magic Reflect ability. Thankfully, the enemy didn't have a healer in the team. My team had to defeat the enemy's Taunt unit first and then Ujurak Brave by round two to remove the debuff.

At this point, the tide is turning in my direction as the enemy team had lower health while my Arachne Weaver has increased its health to seven and still increasing as more units die. When the enemy's Warborn Shaman was defeated, victory was assured for my team.
