Key Card in the No Pain, No Gain Ruleset

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!

I briefly wrote about this synergy in a previous post. It's the No Pain, No Gain ruleset and using the Shock Trooper as a key card. I'm sure a lot of summoners are already familiar with this ruleset but for those who don't know yet, please read on.

Shock Trooper - Turn Debilitation into a Weapon

The Shock Trooper is a highly offensive magic unit for only four mana. At maxed levels, he deals five magic damage, has six health and four speed. He buffs the team with additional speed with his Swiftness ability and has an anti magic ability. On the other hand, he has a debilitation Electrified. He damages the whole team with one magic damage starting from round two. We can use this debilitation to our advantage with the right ruleset.

Electrified Debilitation

"Deals 1 damage to all allied Units at the beginning of each round starting from round 2."

The Electrified debilitation hurts the whole team in exchange for the Shock Trooper's high magic damage. The trick is to defeat the enemy before it kills the whole team or itself.

No Pain, No Gain Ruleset

Under this ruleset, the whole team gains the Painforge ability. The Painforge ability grants plus one attack when damaged by Poisoned or Burning, or hit by an ally. Getting electrified counts as being hit by an ally therefore, all units will gain one power each round.

Featured Battle

The battle included No Pain, No Gain in the rulesets. All units can be used because of the Shapeshift Happens ruleset. I chose the Death archon but in hindsight I should have picked Dragon since it's a level four archon compared to the level three I used. I had a dual tank combo Doomshield Warden and Commander Slade in the first two positions. In third is the versatile card Night Reaper. It deals three magic damage and has useful abilities. In fourth position is our key card to take advantage of the ruleset, Shock Trooper. Next is a Taunt card, Syrenth. She draws hits away from our tank and divides the enemy attacks. Lastly, I had the Magnificent Mollusk. She deals a huge six range damage.

The enemy also had the same strategy but with weaker units overall. He also had a dual tank combo and an Taunt unit but his units had weaker attack inspite of having a legendary archon and the legendary card, Venka the Vile in his team.
