Forlorn Geomant: Earth Splinter's Mighty Magic Damage Dealer!

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!

The Forlorn Geomant is an Earth splinter unit that was introduced in the Escalation card set. It stands out as a high mana magic damage dealer that impedes the enemy and has a strong anti Flying ability. Players like me like it because for a common card, the Forlorn Geomant deals unusually high magic damage. It already hits very hard at level 1, making it a great option for players who need a powerful magic attacker at less cost. In today's post, well go through his lore, stats & abilities and show a battle where he's used effectively.

Lore

Thabit, later known as the Forlorn Geomant, was once one of several daoi who protected Blackmoor Basin. When Mahkah Hemlig's came to the Broken Lands, the other daoi escaped to safer regions, but Thabit stayed behind. He defended the land no matter the cost. He fought alone for months against the invaders. He drew upon the earth's power even as he became weak. His sense of duty caught the attention of Captain Maud and King Rennyn's forces, who invited him to join their campaign against Mahkah. At last, after a long and lonely struggle, Thabit marched to war knowing he would no longer have to be forlorn.

The Forlorn Geomant is a huge thirteen mana common card. At maxed levels he deals five magic damage, has two armor, seven health and one speed. He has two abilities, Impede that slows down his target and Wingbreak which targets flying units and doubles the damage he dealt against them.

The great thing about the Forlorn Geomant is he already deals five magic damage at level one. The disadvantage is he gets his first ability at level five, meaning you will need sixty copies in order to get Impede and then his second ability at maxed level. He's a great unit for pure magic damage. Abilities maybe a bit lacking but they are definitely useful once he gets them.

Featured Battle

The featured battle had a mana cap of fifty five and Back to Basics ruleset. I minimized using melee units and focused on magic and range instead. I had the Ironwing Juggernaut in first position. It was followed by Arcane Skinwalker and then the Forlorn Geomant who is great in this ruleset because his high damage is complemented by the Blood Moon ruleset. He will more likely defeat an opponent and trigger bloodlust. I had another high damage unit in Living Berm who deals four range damage. My next two units were elves who will receive the Execute ability from the archon.

The enemy had two melee units and the rest were magic units. Unfortunately for him, my archon debuffs magic damage dealers and decreased his damage output. The enemy's units were faster owing to the speed buff from his archon but mine dealt more damage. My team outlasted and outdamaged the enemy and won the battle.

Final Thoughts

In high mana battles where raw damage is important, the Forlorn Geomant provides exceptional strength and can quickly become your trump card in the Earth lineup. He may be lacking in abilities, but he more than makes up for it with raw magic power!
