Beating Dragonlord Mancer

Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!

Last week I wrote about Dragonlord Mancer in this post. He is a legendary Dragon Archon from the Conclave Arcana set and the final Conflicts airdrop card in the series. He is a very strong archon with powerful abilities in his kit. I showed how he effectively beat my team in that post.

His abilities are overpowered. First, he grants two units with powerful abilities Bloodlust and Corrupted Healing. Bloodlust adds to all stats everytime a unit defeats an enemy. Having two units with bloodlust in the team gives them a huge advantage. Even brawls normally only allow one gladiator card that has bloodlust ability. Corrupted healing is another broken ability, healing multiple units in the team. Having two of them sustaining the team with healing is absolutely insane. This ability could be comboed with the Bloodline Dominion ability, Scavenger that increases health and counteracts the cons of Corrupted Healing.

His abilities are simply so strong that he consistently beat my Earth elf team like in the battle below.

Apparently, my elf team with Execute ability does not work against Dragonlord Mancer. I almost surrender whenever I see that my enemy used him in recent battles but I wanted to beat him and prove that a sound strategy can still beat stronger cards in Splinterlands. This is what makes the game fun and challenging. I thought of strategies to beat him, stronger defense with armor does not work or even having faster units. I need to outdamage him and defeat his units before his healers can sustain their allies. The one I chose to beat him was the humble archon from the Frontier: Marlai Singariel and her magic team.

I chose the Blue Wyrm Travesty for my tank. Its combination of high damage and slow debuff works well in my favor. Attacking first and dealing high damage and not let them get healed is the key to defeating his units. In second position I had another tank Ulundin Overseer. He has no attack but that's not an issue because I had Shiraza grant him two magic attack. Next is Mindless Thrall who deals four magic damage. In fifth position is Torrent Sniper. He starts with three magic damage but with Painforge and Shock Trooper electrifying him will raise his attack. Lastly, Shock Trooper deals five magic damage while buffing my team with speed.

The enemy had a level two Dragonlord Mancer. He gave Bloodlust and Corrupted Healing abilities to two strong units while he also had two units with Scavenger abilities. It's a very tough team to beat but my advantage in speed and high damage worked well in my favor. My team was able to defeat the enemy units before they can be healed. It was a satisfying win against a legendary archon. I'll try this strategy again next time I meet him.

Great strategy I would look at it as well.Mine I do use Ambush + Poison + Stun to defeat him and his goons.
