Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!
The Anemic ruleset is new in Splinterlands. Under this ruleset, all units start with a max health of four regardless of their original stats. This means that units with high health lose their advantage and units with high damage and self sustain take center stage. In this post, I'll share how I play the Anemic ruleset and try to take advantage of the battle conditions. I'll show a sample battle, the units I chose and how they synergize with each other.

The enemy and I both used the same Death splinter. There were similarities but there were differences as well. Instead of the usual format of my posts, I'll do a head to head comparison of our units.
| My Card | Enemy Card | Comments |
|---|---|---|
| Thalgrimore | Reklah | I used the Frontier archon Thalgrimore. Although he is a Frontier archon, he has the advantage in this battle over the enemy's because his debuff that decreases enemy health affects all units while Reklah only decrease the health of two of my units. |

|---|---|---|
| Ujurak Brave (5) | Ujurak Brave (3) | We had the same tank but mine was at level five against the enemy's level three. This is crucial since my tank has the Silence ability. This battle is about damage and survival so debuffing his magic damage means my units receive less magic damage and therefore survive longer. |

|---|---|---|
| Fenmoor Gorgon (3) | Fenmoor Gorgon (3) | We had the a similar unit in level three Fenmoor Gorgon. This unit has the Demoralize ability that decreases melee damage. Although we have the same unit, I had the advantage since the enemy's card was debuffed and had less magic damage. |

|---|---|---|
| Silverleaf Warlock (3) | Silverleaf Warlock (3) | Another similar unit was a level three Silverleaf Warlock. This unit has the Swiftness ability and adds to the team's speed. This is crucial since the faster team gets to eliminate the other team before they can act. In this case, no team claimed a speed advantage although I had the advantage in damage output since the enemy's card was debuffed and had less magic attack. |

|---|---|---|
| Shadowfey Shiek (2) | Shadowfey Shiek (2) | Another unit that was the same was a level two Shadowfey Shiek. This unit has can sustain itself with its Life Leech ability, increasing its health each time it deals damage. Again, the enemy's magic attack is less than mine, giving me the advantage. |

|---|---|---|
| Arachne Weaver (3) | Arachne Weaver (2) | This card presents my biggest advantage. Aside from its healing ability, my unit has the Scavenger ability. It enabled my unit to increase its health even beyond its max health of four and therefore became tanky as the fight progressed. |

|---|---|---|
| Dark Arborist (4) | Shire Knacker (3) | Finally we have different cards. I had the magic card Dark Arborist while my enemy had a ranged unit Shire Knacker. Here the advantage is the enemy's since the Shire Knacker has the Snipe ability, targeting the more vulnerable units without armor in the middle positions. |
The Anemic Ruleset presents another fun challenge for players to deal with. Under this ruleset focus on high damage units, units with healing and self sustaining units for survival. It also helps the team if its faster to attack first and eliminate enemies before they can strike back. It's also important to fill all slots and avoid high mana units that will deny slots to other cards. Due to the low health of individual units, it's crucial that all slots are occupied to increase the overall team's health pool. I hope readers learn something from this post and see you in the next one!
