Winning with the Power of Three

poster made by Grok

Greetings to all Splinterlands players and hive gaming community! Splinterlands introduced a new game modifier. It's called the Power of Three.

All units that cost 3 mana start with +1 power.

The modifier rewards players who use three mana cards by raising their power by one, so the modifier is aptly called "The Power of Three". I came across it in one of my games and I changed my strategy and card composition to benefit from the modifier. I had to slip in my three mana cards and switched other cards to fit the mana cap. The game limited the units to melee cards only that limited our choices.

The Teams

Let's compare the teams of my opponent and mine.

RoleMy TeamOpponent TeamComment
SummonerElowen SylphieChuul JujinchiLegendary summoner gives me a clear advantage because he has more skills.
Unit 1Doomshield WardenSkyspire YakMy tank has higher attack and better defense. He has Resurgence and Trample skills from the summoner.
Unit 2Ironwing JuggernautEndless ApeMy first three mana unit. I gave it Resurgence and Trample skills.
Unit 3Halaran HuntressMad Ogre AnarchistBoth cards are well positioned. My only edge was having flying skills.
Unit 4Fenmoor PlatypusTwice Yester KnightMy second three mana unit. It attacks from this position while the opponent does not.
Unit 5PhlegmunculusVicious QuillunThe opponent's card is better in this position. It has more attack and life stats

My team benefited from the Power of Three modifier having two three mana cards. I also held the advantage with the quality of cards like my legendary archon and frontline tank. I have a big advantage in this game and used it to get the win.
