Pizza A Slice of Madness Brawl Report
Greetings to all Splinterlands players and hive gaming community! This is my report for Pizza A Slice of Madness brawl. We are a guild that plays for fun, competitions and rewards. We play in the weekly guild brawls where we fight with other guilds for the fun challenge and rewards. This is our battle report for the week.
Overall Guild Rank: Third Place
We're back in our usual spot at third place. Last week we had a very successful brawl and made it to first place for the first time since I joined the guild. We had 81 wins this week versus 23 losses. There's a huge gap between the second place guild, Lux Aeterna. Likewise, we had a huge lead over the fourth place guild Kaklase.com
Top Brawl Participants
My record for this week was 6-2 win loss. I joined other guildmates in 7th to 11th place in the ranking of top brawl participants.
Selected Games
Here I present three of the games that I won.
Game 1
The first game I tried my newest legendary card. It's a Death legendary card, Xulax Nightwind. He is a cool tank with skills against magic units. I didn't get any advantage from his skills because my opponent didn't use any magic cards. But he only have a rare gladiator card and mine was surely better. Xulax Nightwind had three attacks versus the Foundation card Nim Guard Captain. Surely, the legendary gladiator card had the definite edge and this won me the game.

Game 2
I had Water versus the opponent's Life splinter. My units were mostly magic that was boosted by the archon. Helping my team was a common gladiator card, Isgald Vorst. Although it's just a common card, it has a high attack of three and Opportunity skill. My opponent chose Life splinter with gladiator card Captain Katie. It has three magic attack and a strong card. Unfortunately for him, my magic units were too strong and killed his units quickly. I won even though I had a weaker gladiator.

Game 3
Game 3 had Back to Basics modifier. Magic is the mostly used with this modifier but it's weakened by another modifier, Arcane Dampening. So I had a dilemma whether to use magic or not. In the end, I still decided to use magic because other units are not as good in Back to Basics. For the gladiator, I had the epic archer Edith Emberstar with four attack. My opponent made the same decision. The difference was, my magic cards were stronger. I had a legendary card in my team whereas my opponent did not. In the Foundation set, we have to squeeze every bit of advantage due to the cards being the same. One small difference in stats could spell victory or defeat. In this game, the one with the stronger unit won.

Spending the Rewards
I bought two packs that I opened one after another. The first pack had two rare cards while the other one had an epic. Nothing that special in this batch of packs.
Conclusion
We earned 3,389 merits and 33 SPS from the brawl. The reward is generous that we get just from joining and playing brawls. With regular brawls, it adds to my weekly SPS stake. I'm grateful to the Pizza guild for accepting me as a member and gave me a regular spot to join the brawls and earn rewards.

If you are a player with few cards in your deck. Join a guild that can assist you to grow in Splinterlands. You can join brawls to earn SPS, enjoy reward multipliers and shop discounts. Since joining a guild, I'm adding my cards by buying from the shop and the market. This makes the game more fun and add progression. If you're not a guild member yet, now is the time to find one.
