Learning Strategies from Splinterlands Posts

poster made by Grok

Greetings to all Splinterlands players and hive gaming community! I learn chess strategies from reading articles and replaying games. In Splinterlands I apply the same principle. Sometimes I come across interesting strategies and I copy them in my own games. Recently, I came across a post by @untilwelearn about the synergy of Electrified and Painforge. I found the idea interesting so I tried it in my own game and it worked. The article I'm talking about is in this link.

The idea is mixing Electrified, a disability and turning it into something positive with Painforge skill.

The Painforge skill can be acquired by all units in No Pain, No Gain modifiers. Painforge adds +1 power to a unit when damaged by Poisoned or Burning, or hit by an ally. Well, getting electrified counts as being hit by an ally so all units that get electrified gains +1 power in each round that they get electrified. So the next time I encountered the modifier, I chose Water and included the Shock Trooper in the team.

My opponent had the same strategy of combining Shock Trooper and Painforge. My units were more developed and had higher attacks and better stats overall. This is the advantage I enjoy for buying cards and upgrading my units. My opponent's cards were at a lower level, had lower attacks and health. The fight started and it was exciting to see the effect of combining Electrified and Painforge. The units increase their attacks after being hit by electrified. It worked for both teams but the better team with higher stats won in the end.

Having thought about it some more, the strategy not only applies to electrified units. Cards with the Painforge skill will be good to use in games with poison or burning modifiers. Units damaged by poison or burning also increase their power each round. I'll check the market for cards with Painforge and consider including them in my team.

Conclusion

There are many articles about Splinterlands that we can read from posts made by players. These are helpful tips that can elevate our game and helps us win more. I'm grateful for these posts and I will share my strategies too so that newbie players can also learn from my games.
