Greetings to all Splinterlands players! I hope you are all doing great this Saturday. Today I'm going to share my entry about this week's Community Engagement Challenge: Battlefield Breakthroughs! My topic is about winning teams, strategies and deck choice. Every game in Splinterlands is different. The choices you make in making your teams will decide between the pinnacle of victory or jaws of defeat. I will share with you my methods in picking winning teams in the games that I will show today.
In this game, I relied on the speed and power of my units. The Fire archon buffs all of my units with speed while the units themselves have attacks of two. My units are faster and have higher attack. I also included a unit with no attack but this unit, Spellmonger is very effective against melee units. This unit has Thorns skill that returns 2 physical damage to melee attackers. This unit was able to dispose of my opponent's Vengeful Monk.

In the following game, the Spellmonger was again my secret weapon. I put him in the first position since the ruleset has Equalizer, at the start of the game, the Spellmonger will have six health instead of one. His Thorns skill is again important in this game since it damaged my opponent's first unit.

In this game, the ruleset was Explosive Weaponry, all units will have Blast skill. It's important to be fast to be able to attack the enemy and kill his units before he kills mine. I once again chose the Fire element because of their speed and power. I also included the Spellmonger in this game.
The opponent has a level 3 archon already while mine is only one. His units are also higher level. But having the higher level units does not guarantee victory. You have to choose the proper units in battles and position them correctly. We both have no attack units but mine can damage melee units with Thorns while his only have Dodge. My unit in second position has high health to be able to take the damage from Blast while the opponent's second position unit only have three health.

The next game only allows neutral units. In here, I chose the Water archon since I wanted to use magic units. I didn't use the Vengeful Monk as my strategy was to counter him. Instead of Vengeful Monk who needs seven mana, I used two units in his place, the Spellmonger to kill the enemy's Vengeful Monk and an archer, Grand Consul Minion.

In this one, all units have the Opportunity skill. Once again, I wanted the faster and higher attack units, the Fire element. Since all units have Opportunity, I used the Spellmonger to lure the enemy melee units in hopes of killing them.
At the start of the round, my faster units were able to dispose of some enemy units. My Spellmonger was also able to kill the enemy Vengeful Monk with his Thorns skill. Having the faster and higher attack units proved effective again in this game.

Conclusion
In Splinterlands, having the stronger units is fine but it does not mean that you will win immediately. Sometimes, even weaker units, if they are strategically placed and fulfill their roles well in the game will defeat a more powerful team. The players should master which units to use in battles to be able to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat. Only by playing constantly and paying attention to the most effective teams can we learn and master the game of Splinterlands.
