Investing in Splinterlands Cards: A Learning Curve and Growing Collection

As we all know that in splinterlands game cards are important. These are NFC cards and with each card we get different abilities and the use case on the battleground. If you want to play the battle you must have the cards with you. You can either buy the cards from the marketplace or you can also take those cards on the lease which is also known as rental market.

I got 30 high level cards delegation from my mentor @bravetofu and I was happy in the beginning. Later I realised that this is not good enough and I need more cards so I figured out the rental option. Following his advice I took some cards on the rent and it was working good for me. I think I should not rely completely on the rental instead there should be a balance between my own cards and rented cards. This is a good option for the new players because before buying the cards I can have some exposure and choose whether I want to buy that cards or not.

This week, it is my second investment in the game. The first one was for the SPS coin and now I have invested over $100 on the cards that does not include whatever I paid for the rental charges. This investment is even better because I got additional benefits through my mentor. He sent me 15 KDEC tokens as additional reward. This is really cool isn't.

That's not all because he also continued the card delegation for another month along with SPS delegation. He delegated me 150K SPS and this is a big amount. This delegation will help me have better in game rewards. So he gave me a bunch of reward that includes cards delegation, sps delegation and 15K Dec tokens reward. A BIG thanks to you @bravetofu and your discord support is another help I appreciate a lot.

Here is the glimpse of cards that I have purchased from the marketplace. Buying is not a complicated process but figuring out the cards that I need to buy is not easy. There are thousands of cards in the game and practically it is not possible for me to buy all. Cool I will need to buy some selected cards and I don't know which are the good ones I should but still I spend some time. I tried figuring out some of the cards which can be good addition to my cards collection.

It is true that its a time taking process because slowly and gradually we learn more about different cars. As I have purchased some cards already and will be trying to purchase more but I will also try to avail the rental. Both the ways will be helping me to have a good collection of cards. Having more card means my gameplay is stronger and I can play better. It is not possible for anyone to win each and every battle.

This is how my card connexion is looking like because there are so many and all the cards on this snapshot are owned. I have excluded any other card that I received through the delegation or the rental.

I have invested about $150 in different cards and this is just the beginning. I'm still trying to learn about some other cards and we'll see if I can get those cards from some discount. Today I discussed this topic that how can I find out some discounted cards which is not easy but my mentor helped me to follow some tips. I'm very sure that these tips are going to be helpful but we will see how it works.

After the purchase my power has grown. I am talking about own power which is calculated on the basis of the cards that we purchased from the market.

This is my game account where I have almost 30K owned power and it also shows the total number of battles I played. This count is 376 and out of reach I have one two thirty two battles with the longest streak of 30. I don't know why but I face a lot of competition this season and this is why I'm not even able to unlock the Diamond League. Currently playing in the Golden League and much closer to unlock diamond but it is not happening because I lose more batters than I win.

I'm not giving up because I know that with consistent efforts I will be able to unlock the diamonds and I will have to make it diamond anyhow. I have good collection of SPS through my own and delegated so it will give me good reward also.

Some of the cards are available at good discount and some of the cards prices have increased. Overall I feel it is still a good time to invest on the card assets because if market goes into bull run the impact will also be reflecting on a splinterlands assets. I'm not a financial advisor and I cannot share anything related to any type of financial advice so it is just a thought which I am sharing. No way it is any time of financial advice about the game or any investment.

But as far as the game is concerned my experience is great and I am enjoying whatever I'm learning and playing in the game ecosystem. The more I learn makes me feel more confident and motivate me to learn even more.
