Hello Splinter nerds
When I saw the stats of the new legendary conflict card that was airdropped, I knew the phase ward ability was a nice ability to have, but I was not sure of any card I could substitute for it in the front line, especially when most of us players put the monsters with phase ward in the second position to give our tank the phase ability.
After the release and I saw other players using it, I realized it does not need to fight for a position with other phase ward monsters, as this card was created to complement Zyrx the Emberglace
, the cleanse rearguard
ability helps to stop the burning, at least it can protect itself from it if not all the monsters....
The name of the new conflict card is Zarin the Scorch, a legendary dragon monster with 5 amazing abilities.
Slow: -1 speed to the opponent team, this ability benefits not just Zarin but all the monsters in its squad, cos it affects all the monsters on the opponent team by making them slow by 1.
Phase ward: The monster in front of Zarin gains the phase ability[ magic monsters can miss their attack on a monster with the phase ability]
Camouflage: This monster is well protected and can't be attacked in the rear position[unless by random attacks by scattershot monster] until it is the only monster left in the team.
Cleanse Rearguard: This cleanses the last monster on the team, it always goes for the monster at the back line first.
Blast: When it attacks, it does 50% damage to monsters adjacent to the one it attacks.
I have a higher win rate with this card when I use the Nidhoggr to summon it and Zyrx.
I had a battle with Xsuilx in a 3 ruleset.
The first rule was Even stevens, only magic monsters can be used, the second rule was Born again, all the units have rebirth ability, which enables them to resurrect once when they die, and the last rule was Aimless, which gives all the scattershot ability.
The rule made me decide to use the dragon summoner because of its blast stats. I can choose 3 monsters to get the blast and Death blow
ability and make the blast spread!
The opponent used Lorkus
which is not a bad idea, but luckily I still won, all thanks to the monsters I used.
Grimbardun Smith was my tank, a very strong monster capable of receiving many hits from the opponent team. It was supported by the Rage weapon training ability that gives it magic power to attack as well, rather than just defending its team.
Kelan Gaines was the 3rd monster on my team and one of the beneficiaries of the blast and deathblow ability. Even though the opponent tried to silence his magic, it still ended up eliminating the last 2 opponent teams in the end. It is a double strike monster that makes its attack lethal.
Zyrx the emberglace and Zarin the scorch complement each other. When Zarin gets affected by the burning, it cleanses itself with the rear guard and also gives Zyrx the phase ability, which makes it difficult for magic monsters to hit it. Zyrx's execute ability also helps a lot in the battle above, as it helps to eliminate some of the opponent monsters.
I won't say my formation is better than the opponent team; we both came up with good strategies, but fortunately for me, I won, which is what matters.
