Hello Splinter nerds
There have been many good reviews about the new frontier format, which brings back the good old time engagement in the Splinterlands channel as well. I am an observer, and I have seen people excitedly discussing their wins and rewards in the channel.
I am active in three different formats: Frontier/Modern/Survival, and I kinda make sure to play the 3 daily. The Modern and Survival format helps me to achieve my goals of stacking more sps, since I advanced in league in Survival, the 18 sps I was earning in Gold league increased to 30+ sps in diamond and I know it will be more in Champion, so my target is Champ but that will happen slowly as we have more fierce opponent in diamond.. Today I had an epic battle that I felt others must also watch... It is too good for only me and my opponent to see.
This is my first time using Armored Strike to wipe out the whole opponent team. In fact, I was not expecting the game to play out that way, but it turned out like that.
It happened in the survival format, and I was paired with a guildless account in a three-combo rule set.
This rule indicates that magic attack hits armor first before reducing the health, unlike when magic monsters attack can penetrate the armor.
This rule indicates that the trample stunt can be pulled many times if the trampled unit is eliminated, so it helps players to utilize the trample ability to the fullest.
This is the third and last true, and the logo and name are self-explanatory. All monsters have the true strike ability, which means they will not miss their attack!.
The opponent used Byzantine kitty, a dragon summoner, to summon the life splinter monster, while I used Possibilus the wise, a water summoner. One of the beauties of survival is how it makes all cards relevant...
Here is our setup above.
When the opponent sneakily eliminated 2 of my monsters, I had almost given up on the battle before Mantaroth rekindled the hope, and not just that, he wiped off the opponent team with his continuous strike at a go!
Manta has 5 amazing abilities, but the one that made winning the particular battle I shared possible was the Armored Strike and Blast ability.
The main purpose for my choice of summoner was for the trample stat it has, and I hope it can work on destroying 2 or 3 of the opponent team. I never expected I could use it to wipe out the whole team, so what happened was Manta has 4 armor and he got 2 additional armor from Venari Wavesmith, making it six... So for every attack done by him, the blast affected the monster behind the eliminated monster, which made them weak, and then Manta struck again and again to finish them off, and he did this till all the opponent monsters were gone.
Now stop reading and click on the battle link in this post to watch the fight, cos there is no way you can enjoy reading more than watching the live action.
I rock the combo of Possibilus the wise and Manta, and I am going to repeat it when the chance occur.
