I deliberately stopped splitting the reward on the emp-warden account because I felt sps is undervalued and I see it outperforming other coins in the future. I took this step last year, in March 2024, and from that time till now, the account can boast of 750,000 Sps Staked even though I spent some of the sps in it to purchase some common soul-bound gold cards that were not yet maxed...
The reward earned on the account drastically improved when I also suggested that we change it to a gold foil account and since then it has been from one milestone to the other and I believe in few months we are going to hit the 1m sps stake goal, Sps can take its time because we are still building.
The importance of building is that sometimes some opportunities knock at one's door without expecting it, and they are easy to grab when one is already prepared for it, such is the case with the Yaba's pickle that deals with the Sps stake.
At the time the Sps stake snapshot was taken for Yaba's pickle, Emp-warden had a total of 730,000 Sps stake, so it qualifies to purchase 730 Yaba's pickles. The numbers needed for a max regular foil pickle were 400 cards, but since the account is not a normal foil account, the target is a max gold pickle, and pretty much better if we hit a jackpot and get a black foil.
The 730 yaba's pickle cost a total of 109,500 Dec with alchemy and midnight potions, and when it was opened, I was excited because I got a black foil!
Here is the screenshot of the opening below.
Incase you wondering why I am only excited about the blackfoil and didn't care about the gold and many normal foil, oh well you can check the market for the price of the gold and standard cards then compare it with the black foil, When a card is rare, it becomes precious!
Apart from the price of the black foil of this card, let us talk about its stats.
This card is a water splinter monster; it is a non-attack 4 mana monster. Even though it has no mode of attack, it is not a problem, as we now have weapon training monsters that can empower it.
I love the abilities it possesses, it can self-heal, it slows down the opponent team, the dodge ability is useful when it faces range and melee attack monsters in battle, and also the shield that reduces the damage done to it by range and melee monsters.
The black foil is for game play, and below is my first win with it!
The strategy I used above is very common to players who play the modern format... Using Commander Slade as a tank and a monster with Phase ward
in the second position to protect Slade from magic monsters...
Yaba's pickle just made this formation better because of it slow ability, needs to reduce the opponent speed as much as I can so they can have a lower chance of hitting Slade and it worked! and also because of the noxious fume ruleset, Pickle can protect itself by self healing until Jicarilla The rime can cleanse it.
The Tactics work perfectly, and that was my first win with pickle. Expect more of Yaba's pickle in my battle, yet to try it in the Little League battle.
