Bossingclint Brawl Report 28 Dec

Introduction
Hey all, hope all of you had a great Christmas, I had a restful Christmas gathering with my family and friends. The last brawl just completed almost a day ago. And with the completion, let me bring to you, my brawl report for PIZZA 420 The Calzones. The lineup I put up in each match, how each of the match ended and also how did the guild do for this particular brawl. Let's get right on into the various matches.

Brawl Matches

Recently I have been cycling between both wild and modern fray. Haven't found what truly works for me so I will continue tinkering and see how each one works out. So let's dive in to the matches I had and do some reflections on how I can do better for next brawl.

Match 1:

Comment: A match that deters range attackers and needing loads of health in order to make it into the lineup. For me, I load up all the melee cards and magic cards. However, I do not have every card able to strike from non first position, so that will be a potential problem. And that problem resulted in me losing this match.

Comment: Back to basics and melee only. This basically mean we will need strong melee cards to hold as long as I can for each of them before being exposed. However, even when I put a Gladius, it is not enough as opponent had higher level hard hitting melee cards. Match lost.

Match 3:

Comment: High mana match and bad for range. I chose to lineup a Quora based team which include Grund for bigger double strike, a Venari Spellsmith to dispel and also Mycelic Slipspawn to taunt. A combo based deck works better and allow us to land our first win of this brawl.

Comment: Melee only and melee mayhem which also included earthquake. Not as easy lineup to put up. I tried to put up sufficient cards and possibly add in big hitters and also possibly flying cards or scavenge since we will expect earthquake and also cards being killed by it. However, when I see that my opponent used Mylor Crowling that gives thorns to whole lineup, I know this is a goner for me since every strike will end up having damage returned to me. Match lost.

Comment: Magic reflect and scatter shot. This makes it a little tricky as I have the tendency to use magic. So end up I actually use a whole array of double strikers, double attackers, thorns and also a strong range attacker. While we came close, the battle tactics applied by my opponent makes it a problem for me as my lineup got overturned and I lost the match.

Comment: I did not have enough Gladius card to be placed for this ruleset where it is possible to field 3. Since it is melee mayhem and also rage giving, if we have enough cards, we will do well but we do not have sufficient. We are up against 3 massive Gladius cards and I ended up losing against the massive rampage. It is really tough to fight 3 growing cards with Blood Lust.

Comment: Double Gladius, weak magic and holy shield. While again I have limited cards, I used a martyr and hope Oshannus able to slowly tank and allow my own Isgald to strike. And indeed I manage to hang in and allow Isgald to strike on and winning another match.

Brawl Results

I am assigned 7 matches for this brawl of which I won 2 of them and lost 5 of them. It is really tough to fight against very strong opponent whom had good spread of collection. My collection is really limited and indeed struggling against these players whom have vast collections.

Unfortunately, we came in last for this brawl. We need to continue working towards winning our matches. Many of us having around 50%-ish win rate which we really need to better it if we want to land on higher positions in brawl. I hope I can continue to build up my collection accordingly to improve my chances of winning.

Closing
Landing on the last position is not a good sign. We need to get our act together and start improving our match results. We are still looking for people to join us, so if you are keen, do join us.
