Hello guys!
Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge Wands Out. This is my second post to join this challenge. Just like my first post, I experienced card limitations because I used a sholarship account. So maybe this strategy is a little different from the strategies that other players use, but this can still be a reference for you.
Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on modern battles on Gold leagues, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league. I use a scholar account from Buldog1205 with IGN NIGHTMAREINBONE.
Description:
Only units with magic attacks may be used.
Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.
The rulesets in this battle are:
Battles with mana 99 can be very annoying as well as very fun. But since this battle is only magic monsters that can be used, then let's focus on finding elements where we can get a lot of magic monsters, both as tanks, attackers, and support. With that in mind, I decided to use a combination of Dragon and Earth elements, with a line-up like the image below.
Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
---|---|---|---|
Quix The Devious | Summoner | -1 Range, -1 Speed | This Summoner does not have abilities related to Magic, but I chose Quix The Devious to summon Dragon monsters because I need tanks and attackers from Dragon monsters, while the Summoner Dragon that I have is Quix The Devious. |
Void Dragon | First | Flying, Void, Phase | I think the Void Dragon is the best tank I currently have to deal with magic attacks. This is because this monster has the ability to survive with Void ability, and has high speed combined with Flying ability and Phase. So this monster will have a great chance to dodge Magic attacks. |
Quora Towershead | Second | Bloodlust, Heal | Quora Towershead is a very special monster Gladius, thanks to its abilities. If we play in the lower league, especially in a low battle, this monster is really OP, but if we play in the upper league, at least Gold and only level 1 monsters that we have, then this monster is not as special as you imagine. Your stats may be inferior to other monsters with card levels in the league. So even though I put Quora in second position, this is only because this Monster can also double as a tank if she is in the first position because it has 2 different types of attacks, that is magic and melee. |
Magi of Chaos | Third | None | Magi f Chaos is a Neutral monster that has considerable magic damage, namely 3. Even though at this level the Magi of Chaos doesn't have the ability, this monster is still suitable as an attacker because of the damage it has. |
Chaos Dragon | Fourth | Flying, Scattershot, Blast, Blind | Chaos Dragon is the main attacker in the line-up that I compiled. This is because this monster has a huge damage, which is 3 and is equipped with Blast and Scattershot. This means that the attack of this monster is irregular and does not affect any ability including the Taunt monster. Attacks with unexpected directions will be an advantage because it could be that if you hit a monster with a small HP in the formation, it will be very detrimental to the opponent. In addition, the Blind ability will also be very useful, will make the Void Dragon as the main tank have a greater chance of avoiding enemy attacks. |
Goblin Psychic | Fifth | Thank Heal, Affliction, Silence | Although Goblin Psychic is a monster with Common rarity, but I think this is a very important support monster in magic formation. This is because of the abilities that this monster has. Tank Heal will restore the monster's HP in the first position, this will make the Void Dragon as the main tank more difficult to need. Affliction ability if it hits the target will make the target no longer able to heal, and Silence ability which will reduce the magic attack of all enemy monsters, and means that if the monster only has 2 damage, it will not be able to provide attacks for the Void Dragon. |
Mycelic Slipspawn | Last | Taunt, Forcefield | Since this is a taunt monster in the last position and I don't have a monster support with Triage, it could be the first monster to die. But this is quite good, because then the front defense will be stronger because the opponent's attack is divided into front and back. |
I've also included a youtube video of this battle that you can play right away.
In this battle, I combine Dragon with Earth elements so that all aspects of both tanks, attackers, and support can be fulfilled. And that's right, the strategy I applied was very effective in this battle.
In general, strategies that can be applied to rulesets with only Monster Magic include:
Choose a strong tank with magic-reducing ability, which has Void and Void Armor, or monsters with Refect Magic, so they can become a weapon from the enemy can turn towards the attacker.
Monsters with Phase can also become tanks, because they have the ability to dodge Magic attacks.
Choose at least 1 monster with Silence ability to reduce magic attack damage from all enemy monsters.
If you have a monster with Reflect Magic, then a Monster with Amplify ability must be present in formation to increase damage from Reflect Magic.
Have at least 1 monster with more than 3 damage as the main attacker so that there are still incoming attacks in anticipation if the opponent uses a Void monster tank combined with a Silence monster.
Summoners with increased Magic such as Obsidian, Alric Stormbringer, Valnamor, and Delwyn Dragonscale can be considered.
You can also use Summoners with strong Magic defenses or reduce Magic attacks such as Thaddius Brood, Owster Rotwell, Mimosa Nightmareshade, Grandmaster Rathe, or Immortalis.
