Hello guys!
Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge Wands Out. I feel like this is one of the hardest Rulesets, if not equipped with complete cards. Especially if we use a Scholarship account where the card we get is really limited. But even so, I will share one of the battles I did with Wands Out rulesets, and I will also share strategies that might be a reference if you play Splinterlands and get the same rulesets.
Well, I'm not a professional player or a tournament hero. I merely like to discuss battles and strategies that in my opinion are worthwhile. I participated in this combat using my Scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700. I played in the Diamond league at modern rank while using a Full main Chaos Legion edition card and several Reward cards whose level was not max. The battle strategy that I shared may not be effective in other leagues because of the different levels of each league.
Alright, without further ado, let's get to the main topic of this post!
Description:
Only units with magic attacks may be used.
Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.
The rulesets in this battle are:
In accordance with the rulsets above, Wands Out makes the monsters that can be used in this battle really limited. Therefore, I'm just going to focus on these rulesets and other rulesets. Taking Sides and Born Again is not too much of a consideration because it will not have much influence on the outcome of the battle.
In general, strategies that can be applied to rulesets with only Monster Magic include:
Choose a strong tank with magic-reducing ability, which has Void and Void Armor, or monsters with Refect Magic, so they can become a weapon from the enemy can turn towards the attacker.
Monsters with Phase can also become tanks, because they have the ability to dodge Magic attacks.
Choose at least 1 monster with Silence ability to reduce magic attack damage from all enemy monsters.
If you have an onster with Reflect Magic, then a Monster with Amplify ability must be present in formation to increase damage from Reflect Magic.
Have at least 1 monster with more than 3 damage as the main attacker so that there are still incoming attacks in anticipation if the opponent uses a Void monster tank combined with a Silence monster.
Summoners with increased Magic such as Obsidian, Alric Stormbringer, Valnamor, and Delwyn Dragonscale can be considered.
You can also use Summoners with strong Magic defenses or reduce Magic attacks such as Thaddius Brood, Owster Rotwell, Mimosa Nightmareshade, Grandmaster Rathe, or Immortalis.
With this strategy in mind, I compiled the line-up according to the table below.
Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
---|---|---|---|
Quix The Devious | Summoner | -1 Range, -1 Speed | This Summoner does not have abilities related to Magic, but I chose Quix The Devious to summon Dragon monsters because I need tanks and attackers from Dragon monsters, while the Summoner Dragon that I have is Quix The Devious. |
Void Dragon | First | Flying, Void, Phase | I think the Void Dragon is the best tank I currently have to deal with magic attacks. This is because this monster has the ability to survive with Void ability, and has high speed combined with Flying ability and Phase. So this monster will have a great chance to dodge Magic attacks. |
Regal Peryton | Second | Flying | Although Regal Peryton's ability is useless in this battle, this monster has a very high speed and also has 3 damage, this will make this monster a useful attacker. |
Chaos Dragon | Third | Flying, Scattershot, Blast, Blind | Chaos Dragon is the main attacker in the line-up that I compiled. This is because this monster has a huge damage, which is 4 and is equipped with Blast and Scattershot. This means that the attack of this monster is irregular and does not affect any ability including the Taunt monster. Attacks with unexpected directions will be an advantage because it could be that if you hit a monster with a small HP in the formation, it will be very detrimental to the opponent. In addition, the Blind ability will also be very useful, will make the Void Dragon as the main tank have a greater chance of avoiding enemy attacks. |
Goblin Psychic | Fourth | Thank Heal, Affliction, Silence, Dispel | Although Goblin Psychic is a monster with Common rarity, but I think this is a very important support monster in magic formation. This is because of the abilities that this monster has. Tank Heal will restore the monster's HP in the first position, this will make the Void Dragon as the main tank more difficult to need. Affliction ability if it hits the target will make the target no longer able to heal, and Silence ability which will reduce the magic attack of all enemy monsters, and means that if the monster only has 2 damage, it will not be able to provide attacks for the Void Dragon. Dispel ability is also very useful because the target of this monster will lose all the positive influence received by the monster. |
Madcap Magus | Fifth | Cattershot, Life Leech | Compared to Queen Mycelia who both have mana cost 4, I prefer Madcap Magus which is still low level, because it has 2 damage and Life Leech ability. Scattershot also makes attacks from this monster have no definite direction, so Life Leech might be of good use. |
You can see the line-up of both teams in the picture below. The opponent is a fellow Scholar account from the Balthazar guild with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-727. I don't know for sure who holds this account, but it seems that this is @shawnnft.
Opponent use Immortalis summoner with -1Health, Void, and Shatter abilities. In addition, the opponent also has a Psychic Goblin with Silence ability, which means that all my monsters that have damage less than 3 will not be able to give attacks to the opponent. The only attackers I have are Regal Peryton and Chaos Dragon. Do I still have a chance to win? Let's jump into the Battlefield Arena!
I've also included a youtube video of this battle that you can play right away.
This is a very long battle, where with 2x speed I still need more than 5 minutes to see this battle to completion. This is because both teams are equally strong, so it takes 21 rounds to determine the winner. On the one hand I had difficulty attacking the opponent because of the Void of Immortalis, on the other hand the opponent also had difficulty attacking my tank because there were too many missed attacks.
As usual, the battle begins with buffs and debuffs parties from all Summoners and Monsters. My Regal Peryton became the monter who got the opportunity as the first attacker. Djinn Biljka became the first monster to die from the Chaos Dragon's attack, but then Rebirth. Apart from the lack of damage from both teams, this battle became very long also because of the Born Again rulesets. The first round finished with both teams still in full formation and 2 attacks that missed namely from Queen Mycelia and Goblin Psychic.
Finally, this battle ended in round 21. I won this battle with 2 monsters left, Chaos Dragon with 1 HP and Goblin Psychic with 3 HP. You can see the final result of this battle in the picture below. The SPS you got was from the SPS delegation as much as 180K SPS.
