[Zingtober] DEER: Naara Went to the Beach

It's finally my day off, so I used this chance to catch up on the artwork and other projects on my list. And since it's the 5th, I decided to start with my first entry for Zingtober. The first prompt they highlighted on the event post happened to be the prompt for October 5. :)

I'm not sure whether I'd be able to draw all the selected prompts, but I'll try. The prompt for today is DEER.

There's already a cute deer character in Holozing, so I used it as my reference. It's NAARA. I was thinking about how to make a little twist on the prompt, so I decided to make a chibi-style Naara posing on the beach. haha

Isn't it cute? I find it unusual to draw in a single color scheme, though. I like colorful drawings, but there's a first for everything. I'll use a different color scheme next time! ^^

Now, let me show you some of the layers...

I actually started with the background... I like painting landscapes, but I'm still practicing how to do it digitally. hahah

I'm using the Medibang app, and I can access the brushes for free after watching an ad, so it really helps a lot! I don't know which ones to use, but trying them out and using the ones that I feel work was fun.

At first, I did a lineart of the subject, then filled it in with base color. However, I forgot to create a separate layer, so I blended the line and colors to add texture. hahaha

Then, I just added some flowy line art and more details...

I also added my signature in one corner and 'Zingtober' on the other corner.

It was fun making this one... Having these prompts makes it easier for me to practice digital drawing as well. So, I'll keep going whenever I have the chance.
