Hello everyone and i welcome you all to a new week
It's been an amazing weekend and am hoping that the week will be awesome .
Today i decided to share the top and trousers i made using Ankara fabric.
In my area, most people sells ankara fabric for their ceremonies.
This particular ankara was for a traditional marriage ceremony.
What happens here is that, the couple will bring out a specific colourful Ankara fabric and will sell it to all the people who wishes to attend the marriage.
With intentions for all to appear in uniforms during the ceremony using the ankara fabric.
So i got my and i was ready to sew it for the event.
It was a 3yard fabric,i was abit careful on the style to choose because i wanted the fabric to be enough.
So at first,i choosed a short and a top design and i later changed my mind to try a trouser and a top design.
Here are the materials i used
My first step was to cut out the trouser since i wasn't sure of the fabric being enough for use because i would prefer to combine the top with a different fabric
After cutting out the trouser i was grateful that i had enough yards of fabric for the top
I choosed a simple style that will be okay for the yards i had left
I didn't want a wider neck, but just a round neck and a slit at the back for easy wearing.
For the trouser while sewing it i had to also create a pocket, pockets are always so useful to me
i wanted to beautify it more so i used white bais on the tip of the trouser and also on the front side of the top to design it more.
I completed the sewing and my top and trouser was ready,it took me four hours to get this done .
I love the simplicity of the design, yet it looked elegant. You did an amazing job with the fabric most especially the bias outline that makes it unique.
Thank you so very much
Am glad you like it
