I made two pieces with a vintage fabric for myself.

Hello everyone and happy new week,am super glad to be here and to share my work with you all.
It was quite a challenging weekend and am glad it ended well.

During the weekend i decided to create something for myself, there's this vintage material i bought from a friend,i loved the fabric but it was just one yard and a half, but i really needed to patronised her since it was her new business.
I did and she was happy that i did.

I kept wondering what style i would used it for ,then i decided to try out two pieces style.

Here are the materials i used

  • Vintage fabric
  • black fabric
  • black thread
  • scissors and measuring tape.

The fabric wasn't much so i decided to start with the trousers first,i knew that it was easier to get a new fabric and combine with the vintage fabric for the top.
To me it was a better option than combing it with the trouser.
So i measured myself and cut out my measurements

After cutting it out ,i started sewing,it wasn't so stressful at first because with vintage fabric you can sew it without lining,i liked it because i didn't want to spend more than i could afford.

After completing it,i got the remaining fabric to sew the top.
At this point i realised that the remaining fabric won't be enough for the top and it was already getting dark so i decided to complete the sewing the next day.
Early the next the i rushed to the fabric shop and i got a black fabric.

It was just half yard fabric,i knew it would be enough
I had to choose a black colour fabric so that the color would match and it won't be so obvious.
I bought it,i came back and i cut it out to sew.

I made a slit in front of the top for it to be easier when wearing it,since there was no zip at the back.

This is the top,i brought the back pieces i had cut out and i joined to the down part of the fabric

I joined the black piece of the fabric both to the front and the back of the top.

Then after joining and sewing it together i sewed up the top

This took longer than expected because of the availability of the black fabric
I still finished up late and i had to take the pictures of it today.

But am still glad that i was able to scale through.

So am here to say a big thank you for going through my posts.

THANK YOU.

This really looks nice, and thank you for sharing I was actually thinking of how to cut a female trouser considering the hip, but with your illustration is a done deal already 😊
