There is that happy feeling a birthday brings, and having my little one clock 4 years on Friday, the 10th of October, makes me very emotional for many reasons. Parents and guardians will understand that feeling of nurturing your little one from pregnancy, infant, and watching them hit every milestone, from crawling, to walking, talking, her first day at school and so on, all i'm trying to say is that i'm grateful for the gift of life and being blessed to have this amazing experience watching my little one grow, she and her older sister means the world to me, and I can't trade the joyous and even though stress at times moments for anything in the world. So happy birthday in advance to my Peace.

Even though the economic situation of the country has a lot of us managing due to inflation, we still can't celebrate a birthday without a cute dress. My daughter also requested I get her classmates pencils as her birthday gifts to them, as their class teacher always asks them for pencils every time. It was cute seeing how she felt the needs of others. By God grace, her wish will be fulfilled and a little more.

Since she wouldn't be wearing her uniform to school on Friday as the birthday girl, I still wanted her to feel comfortable in school, so instead of a ball dress, which I often make for previous birthdays, I decided to keep it simple, cute, and comfy this time, making an A-line dress with a combination of two colours and a cute bow on top.

Materials Used

• Crepe fabric

• Matching coloured thread

Cutting and sewing process

• I started by cutting out the A-line dress front pattern, using the sky blue crepe fabric

• Then I proceeded to cut out the back pattern with a more narrow necckline

• Continuing, I piped the neckline of the dress, before joining the front and back by the shoulder area.

• Using the royal blue crepe fabric, I cut out a straight strip and made them into pleats, using pins to put the pleats in place

• then I sewed them around both armhole area

• next, I joined the sides of the dress and also hemmed the base of the dress neatly

• Finally, I cut out the royal blue crepe and made the bow out of it, and also positioned it at where I wanted it to be.

I had these rhine stones, so I just fixed them aroung the neckline for more sparkle, and that completes the making process of my Peace cute birthday dress.

She is yet to see her dress, waiting for her reaction when she returns from school. Now we can't wait for Friday to come already.
