Happy New week, dear creative friends on Hive, wishing you all an amazing week ahead.
Last week could as well be tagged the busiest week of this year for me. Guess what I spent the whole week doing? Sewing, you guessed right. Just when I thought I would have the rest of the Saturday evening to myself to finally have some good rest, I got a call from Joy, a teenager whose family attends the same church as me, "Aunty, is my dress ready?" She asked excitedly on the other end of the line, which had my heart racing with worry, Oh! I managed to say, I had totally forgotten and mixed up the date I promised to get her dress ready due to how busy I was, it's not? She asked again, with the excitement fading out. "Don't worry dear, it will", I calmed her, but felt the uneasiness rising inside of me mixed with my already exhausted self.
I couldn't disappoint her, I know how young girls feel excited about getting a new dress, so I had to drag my tired self to the sewing machine to get her dress ready, making a simple, yet unique dress for Joy, she had planned to adorn her new dress for the first Sunday service of the month. With the little time left, I hardly had the time to take any pictures, as it was also getting dark.
Materials used
Cord lace fabric
Plain crepe fabric
Making Process
I started by cutting out the upper part of the dress, using a bustier pattern and a basic pattern for the back.
Next, I joined the cut out patterns together and turned it with its lining pattern piece
And that completes the making process, i had to take the dress early to church to her the next morning as it was already drk when I finished making it, Thankfully, it fitted her, she was also relieved and happy I didn't disappoint her, though I was exhausted and still am, but glad I met everyone's clothing need for the week, now, I can make my Monday a rest day, but not after sharing this beautiful piece with you.

How we often forgets clients clothes is sometimes not funny and we have to keep working hard at the dying moments to get them ready. I can imagine how you stretched yourself to get the dress ready. Well done dear
It's not easy, but we keep trying, thanks, sis
It is elegant, fashionable, and charming. It looks so beautiful. That young girl will be happy to see this dress. Great job!
