Last week was way too occupied for me. I barely touched my phone haha.

It's been a back to back work. My fingers hurt so badly. Pokes from needles and pins have been the order of the day, but that's what I signed up for.

Good day y'all. It's been a minute. I missed my last week streak but I'm here now anyway.

I'd love to share one of the project I did over the weekend and it's a shirt dress for Mrs Kofi. A Ghanaian lady who fell in love with my brand.

I did a thing on a shirt dress. I also used it to teach my students how to draft and cut a shirt dress, collar stand and collar itself.

It was a fun thing to do. So let me take you also through the process of this outfit.

The first step to making a shirt dress is to get the accurate shirt length, bust and hip circumference, shoulder width and round neckline.

After that, you fold your pattern paper into four, place each measurement leaving a three inches allowance for button placket, as seen on the picture.

For the back, it doesn't need to be divided because there's no zipper.

After that, join the shoulder to shoulder to get the perfect neck width.

That will be used to draft the collar.

To avoid the collar from gaping, one need to draft the center back and center front accurately as seen on the paper.

After which I got a matching button which will be fixed on the button placket after shaping the sides.

After joining the sides, I attached the collar and fixed the buttons.

Now here's the finished look.

It's giving all shades of beautiful and royalty. This shirt dress is a versatile clothing and the fabric used is an African print.

I had a little challenge fixing the button accurately because I got poked by needles several times but at a point I got it right.
