I am always looking to try new things and experiment with my photography. Lately, I have been on a big-time macro kick and really trying to push what I can do with it. It always seems so easy, just take a close-up picture of an object and it will look great and abstract. but that was definatly not the case with these shells. Dealing with the shallow depth of field is just one of the challenges, but also lighting them in an interesting way where all of the details are not just washed out also proved to be a challenge. It does not help things when my stacking program Helicon Focus did not like stacking the shells at all. I must have rendered 5 different stacks just to get all the sections looking good. At the end of the day do I love this photo, no, but I am going to post it anyway because I worked really hard on it and it needs to be shown.
