To solve problems, a prior step, before thinking about a solution and putting your head to work (like the "smoking head" meme), is to gather the correct premises. This idea should be expanded to include collecting general information about the subject; sometimes, with only data focused on the problem, you won't be able to find a solution because you're missing an analysis of the problem's macro-level information.

Even if you start from a correct premise, you could have the best reasoning, but the final result will be incorrect. A curious example to understand this issue of premises is a very short dialogue, but with a powerful insight! Check out the next example:

"The brain sends a nerve impulse to open and close the hand, around 1V. When you test a wire, you know it carries around 110V or 220V depending on the country. If you touch the wire, it will end up closing your hand, and even with the brain sending 1V to open the hand, it won't be possible because it's too low. So, to test the wire, do you put your hand straight or the back of your hand?"

Notice that in the previous text, several premises were raised, and if you didn't pay attention, you may have considered them all true. The final answer is neither straight hand nor back of hand; to test a wire, we use a multimeter, not our hand. Did you understand how important it is not to focus only on the problem, but to analyze the entire context and have general information to have the tools to arrive at the correct answer?

Those who only listen, without questioning, without knowing a multimeter, and without analyzing each of the sentences will end up arriving at the wrong answer. The best part is that with learning and knowledge, we improve and find the correct premises, enhancing our logical reasoning over time, because it's a trainable skill.

Para resolver problemas uma etapa anterior, antes de pensar em uma solução e colocar a cabeça para funcionar (meme da cabeça saindo fumaça), é você coletar as premissas corretas. Dessa forma, vale expandir essa ideia para a coleta de informações gerais sobre o assunto, as vezes apenas com os dados focados no problema você não conseguirá encontrar a saída de um problema, porque falta analisar as informações macro do problema.

Se você partir de uma premissa correta poderá ter o melhor dos raciocínio que o resultado final será incorreto. Um exemplo curioso para entender essa questão das premissas é um diálogo bem curtinho, mas com um insight poderoso! Confira o próximo exemplo:

"O cérebro manda um impulso nervoso para abrir e fechar a mão, por volta de 1V. Quando você vai testar um fio, sabe-se que passa por volta de 110V ou 220V dependo do país. Se você pegar no fio ele vai acabar fechando a mão e mesmo com o cérebro mandando 1V para abrir a mão, não será possível porque é muito baixo. Então para testar o fio, você coloca a mão reta ou as costas da mão?"

Perceba que no texto anterior diversas premissas foram levantadas e se você não prestou atenção pode ter considerado todas elas como verdadeiras. A resposta final não é nem mão reta ou de costas, para testar um fio utilizamos um multímetro, não a mão. Conseguiu entender como é importante não focar apenas no problema, mas analisar todo um contexto e ter informações gerais para conseguir ter ferramentas para chegar na resposta correta?

Quem vai só ouvindo, sem se questionar, sem conhecer um multímetro e sem analisar cada uma das sentenças vai acabar chegando na resposta errada. O melhor de tudo é que com o aprendizado e o conhecimento, vamos melhorando e encontrando as premissas corretas melhorando o raciocínio lógico com o temp, porque é uma habilidade treinável.
