Choosing Discipline Over Feelings, One Day at a Time

Okay, this may seem like I'm about post just about anything, to keep my streak. That is one of the reasons but I really needed to share this to applaud myself for what I've been doing for myself since a while ago. One of the hardest things I can do for myself, I have been doing it.

No, it may not look or seem hard to you reading once I tell you about it but I know myself well enough to know I've been doing a hard thing I once thought I'd never be able to. I just finished watching a video of a woman, a mother of three who set out to loss 10kg in 3 months and did it.

While that was super impressive to watch, I was more surprised to see the comment section filled with people who think it's still an impossible thing for them even though they are motivated to achieve what she has achieved. They've accepted that motivation will die a while after they start.

I don't blame them, it's how humans have always lived, only few put their minds to something and achieve them. But I'll blame those who want to try but never did, they let their brains protect them from what could change their lives forever. "The hard and right things are often the same".

It took me this long into my life to learn this but I've started to intentionally change my life with simple and even almost embarrassing daily habits that those around me don't get how I'll change my life with it. What matters more is the feeling of fulfillment I get on a completed day.

Not everyday goes the way I want it to be, some days I feel low and moody to continue what I started, but today I'm applauding myself for still doing them anyways. I think I've been able to teach my brain well enough not to run from it even when motivation is low, I just look ahead.

Just so you don't feel lost on what exactly I'm doing, few of them are reading books (I'm keeping a track of the books I'll finish in this year), applying what I read, taking my health seriously through workouts, sleep time and eating better. I am also studying to understand God's ways. Little but I am experiencing change.
