I'm not going to even try to guess what Bitcoin is going to do this week. For one, it's just too crazy right now. It seems like every time I write one of these posts and I try to figure out what is going to happen I get it totally wrong. I say it's nice that it is going up and then it goes down, or I say it looks like we are in for some pain and it goes up. At this point I am just like whatever.
The world in general is just crazy right now, prices are going up, things are going to crap, and it just makes you wonder if this is the world we were all looking forward to when we were younger. I know I wasn't. I think a lot of us had this notion that the future was supposed to be cheaper and better. It sure doesn't feel that way right now. All of these technological advancements and innovations were supposed to be life and world changing. I guess that might still be the case, but instead of being a positive thing, it is more of a negative.
This world of abundance that many of us were looking forward to (even short term) seems to be more a think of myth and legend versus something that is actually within our grasp.

With the rising cost of food, enjoying a nice steak dinner might be a thing of the past. Unless you have a local source for your beef like @cryptoandcoffee was talking about in his latest post. I remember when my wife and I first got married we were pinching our pennies pretty tightly. I used to take our grocery bill each week and break it down into the different category of items we were purchasing. So for example maybe 10% of our bill was canned goods, 10% dairy, 20% dry goods, 10% snacks, things like that. It would never fail that 50% or more of our bill was always fresh fruits and vegetables. Only back then, our weekly bill was $75 to $100. Now it is closer to $150 to $175 USD. Pretty sad right.
Like I said, I just thought things would be different by now. Yes, we have seen some technology advancements, but I can't say that the majority of them are things which are improving our quality of life. I won't go into this too much, @tarazkp has written countless posts about how this is all playing out. Feel free to check out his blog if you want more information. The fact is, we are chasing the wrong things and it makes me wonder where these things we keep chasing are going to lead us.

I'm not really sure what grilling has to do with any of this, but I took some really great photos while I was making dinner last weekend and I wanted to share them here with you. Probably the fact that sometimes we just need to enjoy the simple pleasures of life despite all the turmoil that is happening around us. Something profound like that.
Long term, I just plan on doing what I have been doing. I get up and go to work each day as long as I've still got breath, I find joy where I can through my family, traveling, grilling, or other hobbies, and I just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Waiting for that day when crypto moons, it's time to retire, or something else happens to shake up my small corner of the world. This is a shorter post I know, and I didn't really focus on finance like I usually do, but I just wanted to get some thoughts out there.
Just to reiterate, it was supposed to be better than this right? The future I mean. Cheaper, better, something to be in awe of, not something to be disappointed with. Was I hoping for too much? After close to 50 years on this planet, I kind of don't know what to expect anymore.

I expected better, but like you just get up each day and enjoy now for what it is. Cherish the moments.
Yeah, prices suck. Not sure they will go down much under a different president either. Once they are up, they never usally go down.
