Orchids and yarn ~ who says Romance is dead!
Last week I missed the boat with my perfect holiday post!
No such drama this week.
I am of course talking about the Ecency Discord Weekly Posting Topic: VALENTINE'S DAY
I have postponed Talk Time with Tengo this week because tomorrow is Valentine's Day and then we are away for a wee break up to bonnie Dundee!
- Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?
Oh fluff yes we do!
Secret .... Now it is always at home...
- Do you have something planned?
Mrs T is working so I shall be cooking and have dinner ready for when she comes home. No change in routine there then!
Cinderfella does love the kitchen🤣
Speaking of the kitchen, this is what we shall be having ...
Starter : Brie wedges in breadcrumbs with a Cranbery and Port Dip
I do love France and yes I still think Paris is the most romantic city and have eaten a load of Brie in pairs over the years. So some sap for yato start!
Main : Duck Breast and Orange Salad
Usually I will cook a steak as we do love red meat. I also love a blue steak and in this country that is hard to find.
As we are away for a few days later in the week I thought I would try something else.
I make a mean duck salad with spinach walnuts and orange slices.
Seriously tasty if I say so myself!
Dessert : Chocolate & Sea Salted Caramel Cheesecake
A wee bit of indulgence here with some cheesecake chocolate and sea salted caramel style!
Mrs T is not a chocolate fan as @dreemsteem can attest, and I have today thank you for hand carrying her Zingers all the way from the good old US of A!
- Are things prepared in advance or are things done at the last minute?
This changes, before when I was working away, then it would be a slap up meal the weekend after Valentine's Day in whatever city we were living in.
- What was your best Valentine's Day?
Too hard to judge, have spent four in Paris they are always special!
- What food and drinks do you recommend for Valentine's Day?
I can't really recommend what to eat or drink as everyone has varied tastes and dietary requirements etc etc!
Just have a fluffing good time is all I would say.
One last thing, I don't do flowers, I always do a plant. It lasts not just for a day or two but for a long time! Mrs T does not do Chocolate hence the yarn, so easy to please!

I am one of those who think that it doesn't take a day that has become a bit of commercial paraphernalia to celebrate love.

My wife and I don't do much for each other for Valentine's day. Honestly, there aren't many holidays we celebrate with each other alone. We do the big one's with our families, but that is about it. One of these days I will have to surprise her and do something for Valentine's day. She definitely deserves it.
