A cute cat/ Un chat mignon

(edited)

!

Yesterday, while we were out running a few errands, an adorable cat crossed our path. You can see in the photo just how cute and endearing he is.

He didn’t stop following us ,the kids and me. We had to pause for a moment, touched by his presence… But unfortunately, we had nothing to give him; we hadn’t even started our shopping yet.

So I said to my son, “On the way back, we’ll get him something to eat.”
Of course, he already wanted to bring him home!
If I listened to him, I think we’d have all the cats in the neighborhood living with us.
And now that we live in an apartment, it’s really not the best place to welcome a whole tribe of cats!

He even gave him a name right then and there, as if he were already part of the family.
The cat, for his part, meowed softly, as if he understood he had just found new friends.

I won’t lie to you, I don’t have the energy or the time to take care of a cat. Even a cat needs attention, care, and a certain level of availability.
I know my kids promise they’ll take care of him… but let’s be honest: with school, sports, outings… when would they really find the time?
And in the end, I know very well that I’d be the one handling everything, almost all by myself.

So I’m sorry, my son… but I just can’t take on another responsibility.

What's the difference between a well-dressed man and a tired dog?
The man wears an entire suit, the dog just pants.
