Good evening, today I'm going to talk to you about the singer Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumne, although you probably know him as Sting, was born on October 2, 1951 in Northumberland, England, the eldest of four brothers. He spent his childhood in that town in the northwest of the country, where he woke up every morning listening to the sound of one of the largest shipyards in the world. Many of the inhabitants of that city worked there, but he wanted to escape from that at all costs.
His parents and other daughters-in-law Mathew Sandler were a hairdresser and a milkman respectively. As a child, he liked to help his parents deliver milk. He must have been about 8 years old when he became interested in music. They said he had talent because he composed his own songs every day with a piece on the Spanish guitar. Something that his family did not like very much, another thing that he was very good at was football. During his adolescence he became a member of the second team of Newcastle, one of the most important teams in the English League, and in 1969 at the age of 18 he finished school and enrolled in the University, which he would leave after only one term. I am going to tell you that it was not his thing. To earn a living he worked as a bus driver, a construction worker and even a tax official. Two years later in 1900, he decided to study teaching, obtaining in 1974, the title of teacher, and he worked as such for two years at the school.
