No-Responsibility Antidote .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 282

After a long time, I have binge-watched a TV show! Is it worth watching or not? I will maybe share in some of the next posts, but one of the things said in the TV series was words from the main character: "No power, no responsibility"... He went so far that in the last episode SPOILER ALERT, he was thinking of taking an "antidote for responsibility"...

I remember the days when I joined the legacy chain with 0 knowledge about it... I knew the basics about the blockchain tech and crypto, but I was completely new to blogging-to-earn, delegated proof of stake, and all the other perks that are specific to our chain... I was playing Splinterlands, creating some content, trying to find my niche, and trying to grow my stake... As I like to build, compound, and grow, I found all that as a perfect match... It was so easy... Every morning I get up, check out my HivePower, and the number is slightly higher than the previous day...

A lot of things changed from those moments... We had bull markets, bear markets, people coming, people leaving, and stubborn people continuing to build... As my account and stake were growing, I felt that I had to do more for the platform... Not because I have to or should, but because it was the "natural" next step... Creating a @liotes project with Achim, launching our 2 tokens based mostly on revenue share, something completely different from other tokens in those days... As HIVE is decentralized, we didn't ask anyone to launch our tokens, but we also didn't pull any arms to support us... We trusted our idea and our tokenomics... If people like it, they will support us...

What I didn't think about in those days was the responsibility that comes with bigger account(s)... To be honest, whenever I build something, I do think about goals to reach and how to scale, but on the other side, I "sandbag" my expectations, and that's why the thought about responsibility wasn't there...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

I'm not sure about the exact moment when I realized that there would be some bumps on the road, but it was maybe when I received those memo transactions for "vote for my proposal" or "vote for my witness"... The step after that was personal messages with a similar context...

Those messages brought some new views about the platform and some big revelations that I didn't even think about earlier... Also, one comment on the last WB report got my attention... It was by @alonicus where he said this:

I started using the Hive Account Health dashboard, and one of the metrics made me realise I was focusing on upvoting all the people I have as favourites, and it was really a bit of a narrow circle.

Hmmm... That's not bad at all, isn't it? I mean, who would you support if not your friends who are sharing their stuff and you are interested in them? You follow them with a reason, and you get value from their posts, so it's normal to upvote them... Is it?

My dilemma wasn't that, but rather the next thought that came to my mind... If we are doing that, is it also normal to support DHF proposals from our friends too? This could sound a bit arrogant, but it is easy to vote for all proposals if your vote doesn't change a thing...

That's where the responsibility kicks in... Should I vote for my friend to fund him and his project, or should I think about the broader impact it could have on the community and HIVE altogether? I know all this could sound too dramatic, but I genuinely think that certain actions can have some long-term consequences...

While it's not everything black or white, we all take things too personally...

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week, we have mined 124 BEE tokens in total, 1 token fewer than the week before!!

This week, we didn't get new delegators!!! As usual, we got additional delegations from old members! Thanks for your continuous support, guys and girls! I really appreciate it!

This pool doesn't charge fees, and you can earn up to 20% more by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

I will be honest with you... I'm not accumulating LEO tokens anymore, but I still have a big bag of them... As some of you are still accumulating them, I will continue giving them away as a bonus to delegators... Of course, if you don't like the token, you can always sell it on the market... That rule applies to all tokens that I'm giving through these rounds... No hard feelings at all... Normally, we all have different views and like specific tokens... In the end, tokens are there to be bought or sold; that's what they are meant to be used for... 🙂

There will be distributed 90 LEO tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

image.png

90 LEO tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 10.296%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 12.499%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

All payments will be made after publishing this post...

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!

Yeah not everything is black and white.. Of course I will tend to support people that I interact more often, just like we all have our social circles in real life too. Perhaps what people sometimes don't see, are interactions outside of Hive too. For example, there are people who I chat on Discord, and we talk about our life, share a little about our problems, and lend a listening ear. So the friendship is closer than that what is visible on Hive.

Thanks for the update and tokens!

Oh, you are 100% on the spot with your observation!
It's the same for me, and probably for many other Hivians... I would add on top of it some IRL meetups that raise the friendships to completely higher levels... 🥂

We are all kinda biased in those things, you consider more supporting a proposal if it comes from a friend you know will do good for the chain even more than the proposal itself... Even for posts, it's the person behind it that matters a lot I'd say

It is like that... And when you mix in money, the whole "decentralization" thing becomes much harder... Whose interests are we protecting? Our own, our friend's, or the chain itself?

I think it's hard to really blame anyone. I don't have as much time on Hive as I did in the past so I tend to focus more on the people that I knew from the past. If I had more time, I wouldn't mind finding new people and changing things around, but there is only so much time in the day.

Thanks for running the the pool and for the BEE/LEO tokens.

The irony is that we have fewer people now than ever in the past, but on the other side, time is limiting us more and more to explore and find new people... Maybe we have trust issues? In the platform, or in new people joining HIVE?

I recognizer Spider Noir when I hear it :)

For me the voting for friends and supporting friends wasn't the take home message. It was that when you start a project you don't really think much about what it means. Once you have been with the project for a while you realize that it is now your responsibility and you either take care of it for a long time or you become just another failed altcoin on HIVE.

For myself? I'm one of the stubborn ones. Not because I care to build more HIVE (although I am), not because i have friends to chat with (they seem to have moved on), but because I built a token and I want to flesh it out and keep it alive just in case anyone cares.

.... and because it is fun to run things in a SandBox and see how things work out :)

Hahahaha... You got it right! 😃 I wanted to write a review of the TC series in one of the future posts, so I didn't want to ruin the surprise... But the review post is still WIP, so nothing to spoil... 😂

And yeah, when you build something, you are not fully aware of the impact it can have on others, but also on you too! I suppose that happened on multiple levels to me... I didn't "predict" that there would be some sour taste on the journey... Anyway, it's part of the "filtering" friends... 😃

I think I am one of those stubborns. I continue accumulating HIVE Power, and I don't know till where and when :)

Hehehe... Same here... I remember many of my "crypto investments" that went south... and when they are too down in the drain, there is no sense to sell them at all... 😃

This is an interesting post that shows how small actions can have a big impact on the future I appreciate how you think about the influence that projects and community support can have on HIVE as a whole. Transparency and community solidarity are what make the ecosystem stronger. Congratulations to WorkerBee Pool and to everyone who continues to offer their support even small, steady steps can lead to great results in the long run

Friendly suggestion... Try to be "more you" on HIVE, and you will do much better... These AI comments will lead you nowhere...
Welcome to HIVE!
