Dream of the Bottom Price .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 267

I had some "intensive" discussions on various HIVE topics this weekend, which made me think about different perspectives on our current HIVE price... I know, I know... You are not here for the price, but for the tech... πŸ˜ƒ And HIVE price doesn't matter, blah, blah, blah... The fact is that HIVE price matters, and the proof is in the charts and on the blockchain... When the price goes up, the interest is bigger, people join the chain, use it, etc. Without new users, more use cases, and more interesting apps, the chain will slowly die... But, but, there will always be someone who will run the chain... that's true, but for whom? For the sake of "staying alive"? This chain is made for people and is to be used!

WorkerBee Pool 267.jpg

Before accusing me of FUD, these are just my thoughts, and I'm still very bullish on HIVE, as a matter of fact, I'm probably more optimistic than ever! Also, I'm not just "running my mouth", I'm still growing my account, supporting the chain in different ways, and of course, supporting people who are still here! Anyways, that's not the topic for today...

So, what should happen to see the HIVE price go up? The answer is easy... More people should BUY and STAKE HIVE, than SELL... Easy peasy... But, the real question is this...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

WHY would someone BUY HIVE?

Being in crypto for almost a decade, made me realize that most people are/were buying crypto for speculative reasons... Buy low, sell high... Unfortunately, that was/is the main crypto use case! Times are changing, and people/investors are getting picky... Price speculation on scarcity and the "shiny object" isn't enough anymore... More tokens and blockchains are born, and the competition is getting bigger... Which is great! That's how we grow!

Being an old chain and coin shows the resilience and "stamina" of it, but improvements are needed... We did have a lot of improvement on the basic, blockchain level, but we do lack some other things... Something that has been stalking us for years... The onboarding process, retention, and lack of good, diversified apps on the chain!

The trap in which I have fallen multiple times "valuating" my crypto "investments" was the assumption: "The price CAN'T GO lower!" Oh, man... How many times have I been dissuaded... πŸ˜ƒ But, is it possible to KNOW the bottom price? How can we work on HAVING the bottom price? Many times I heard people comparing CRYPTO with STOCKS, which can be comparable to a certain point, but they are very much different assets...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

When you BUY a stock of some company, you are not just buying the "current value" of it (not in crypto), but you also speculate about the future of it (similar to crypto)... The company itself has value, workers, real estate, machines, but on the other side, possible debts, expenses, etc. Partly, because of the "physical aspect", the price of stock is usually less volatile, and the risk of going to zero is much lower... While in crypto, the risk is much higher, and it could (and it did) happen more often...

So, how could we take the "positive sides" from stocks, and add them on top of our favorite crypto projects or blockchains... USE CASE, USE CASE, USE CASE!

On HIVE, having "zero transaction fees" is our blessing and the curse... Blessing for obvious reasons, and a curse because our tokens supply can only go up... Which isn't that bad if we are getting new users who are using the chain, but what happens when we are stagnating, like now? These days, because of the lower price, our token supply is growing much faster than usual because of the HBD conversions... We do have mechanisms to prevent the "death spiral", but the damage is still made... What can we do about it? How can we "re-balance" the system?

Liotes Divider Blue.png

USE CASE, USE CASE, USE CASE!

It's always the same answer... Now imagine one thing... The game Hive Battleship by @coldbeetrootsoup guys (@minigunner) becomes ultra-popular, and everyone is playing it... The game is a P2P game, which rewards the winner with a 1.9x reward, BURNING HIVE by default in the moment of the reward distribution... It REMOVES HIVE from the token supply, it makes the token more scarce... Scarcity itself doesn't guarantee a better price, but... When you reach certain levels and have a big use case of the token, it could be the thing that CREATES the BOTTOM PRICE!

image.png

While I would like to see that game be ultra-popular, that will probably not happen (who knows, maybe it will? πŸ™‚)... But, it's not impossible to see dozens of games, or hundreds, or De-Fi apps, or any other useful apps built on HIVE, that would use a similar token use-burn logic, especially with AI being a huge help in app creations!

Would we be in this position if we had dozens of games like Splinterlands, a few DeFi apps, a perp exchange, built on top of HIVE? Imagine perp dex like Hyperliquid on HIVE, burning 0.1% of trading fees of HIVE?

I know that token burning was a controversial topic for a long time, but it could be our ticket to better token appreciation... I agree that we could get there with more users, but why wouldn't we have BOTH options? It's always good to have a "backup plan" in action, just in case... What do you think about token burns and additional HIVE use cases?

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week, we have mined 94 BEE tokens in total, 19 tokens fewer than the week before! Fears from a very good result last week became reality... As it's based on the "lottery system", that is normal... I bet next week we will do much better...

This week, we didn't get new delegators, but we got additional delegations from old members! Thanks for your continuous support, guys and girls! I really appreciate it!

This pool doesn't charge fees, and you can earn up to 20% more by delegating to it!

Liotes Divider Blue.png

What about the bonus tokens?

Last week I was distributing LEN tokens as a reward, and this week, it's time for the "third" token from the @liotes family, the CTPSB token! This token was acquired by Liotes, and it has a very simple setup... Most of the value comes from the HIVE curation rewards, and goes back into the token... That's the main reason why it constantly goes up in value, and will continue to do that... Of course, all that is indexed in HIVE, and not in USD... For the USD value, it all depends on HIVE! Projects like CTPSB are constantly accumulating HIVE and staking, which is another way to keep HIVE out of the liquid market... Having a similar project could also help with lower sell pressure on HIVE...

There will be distributed 2.9 CTPSB tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

image.png

2.9 CTPSB tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 10.378%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 12.490%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

All payments will be made after publishing this post...

I reckon that to participate in the pool you have to buy Workerbee tokens, stake them, and then delegate.
Could you tell me which account I need to delegate the tokens to in order to participate in the Workerbee pool?

I saw you already found the answer to your question... I just did the newest payment, which got your first delegation... The second one happened after my screenshot, but no worries, it will be counted next week... ;)

Oh wow! Love the idea of small, short PvP games, especially with the little burn! I'd not heard of the CBS gaming platform before; it's now one of my open tabs, hopefully that means I'll pay more attention to it going forward! I need to see the sloth at the top of one of the leaderboards LOL!

0.00018017 BEE

Hehehehe... I see some familiar names on those leaderboards, and it looks like some of them are very competitive... πŸ˜ƒ

Good luck!

Burning HIVE is great but let's also be realistic there are over half a BILLION HIVE in circulation and rising ... burning HIVE from games does not even begin to offset the HIVE created from DHF funding.

Great post though ..

You are not here for the price, but for the tech... πŸ˜ƒ And HIVE price doesn't matter, blah, blah, blah

Your first paragraph was a peach! Hive is slowly dieing, but as long as people get their DHF money who cares. Hive is great but will never be big. I mean even web2 pays you now so what has web3 got that web2 hasn't? I love all these games, but Farcaster for example was doing more of them and in an arcade mobile format a couple of years ago.

Vibe coding is great, even I made a whac a mole game where you select which Hiver you want to smack with a hammer 🀣

Well, you know my view regarding DHF, no need to go there...

That's something that I would like to see what it looks like... πŸ˜‚ If it's not online, at least a screenshot... πŸ˜‚

I think someday, someone or something will just be the catalyst for Hive. As long as the system remains decent. It's hard to foresee when these things will happen, in the mean time, I am happy just to accumulate Hive. Hehe! Thanks for the update and tokens!

Hive is a great blockchain, and there is no other that works in the same way... If we ONLY count the data storage as its uniqueness, that's already a big thing that will become more and more important! πŸ’ͺ

I think it's nice to see the new use cases. Other than that, I don't see other ways of making Hive more attractive to users. Most of the use case is from existing users, and I agree that we aren't exactly doing well in the retention/onboarding of new users right now.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/CTPSB tokens.

You are 100% right about that! Blogging isn't that great "selling" point, but HIVE is much more powerful and can do much more than that... We just have to find new use cases...

Good morning, @ph1102. I’m one of those people who doesn't worry muchβ€”on a personal levelβ€”about the price of Hive. In fact, I bought a little bit this week, and several months ago, I swapped all my HBD for Hive. However, I am concerned about the repercussions this has for the blockchain.

As for equating the value of Hive with that of stocks, I believe it’s a valid comparison; it reflects the market value of a project (in my opinion), and that, too, concerns me. At the same time, this tells me that token burning is not the solutionβ€”merely a palliative measure.

This is just the opinion of someone who still has a great deal to learn... but I’ll leave it here nonetheless.

Warm regards.

However, I am concerned about the repercussions this has for the blockchain.

We have a similar view regarding HIVE price... I don't pay too much attention either, but it is important because it attracts new people and attention...

I partly agree with you, but I wouldn't call HIVE "as a project", but rather apps that are built on top of it... They could be compared to stocks as they should have a business model, revenue, etc. Hive itself has value, but I'm not sure how it can be measured... Btw. that being said, it's not HIVE value, but also other blockchains' value, SOL, ETH, etc. It's hard to put a price on them...

Burning tokens sounds "ugly", but it's just a simple token supply reduction... In traditional finance, we are used to inflationary systems, which do work, but also, they can get out of control too...

Thanks for sharing your opinion and view! Appreciate a good discussion and talk... πŸ™

Good afternoon, @ph1102, and thank you very much for your responseβ€”it helps me gain a better understanding of our ecosystem.

Regarding the value of Hive, there is something I used to hear often back when I was a youngster: price and value are not the same thing. To me, Hive holds a great deal of valueβ€”that is to say, it offers many possibilitiesβ€”and, for me personally, it possesses immense value as a censorship-free space. This remains true regardless of whatever price the market dictates.

Once again, thank you very much for reading my post and for leaving a comment.

I hope you are having a wonderful day.

You are totally right, without new users and innovative applications, the chain risks stagnation.

0.00014293 BEE

It's kind of connected... No new apps, no new users... No users to use apps, no progress and growth...

Excelente anΓ‘lisis Me gusta mucho cΓ³mo explicas la importancia de crear usos reales para que la moneda tenga valor. Es un tema necesario para que todos sigamos creciendo en la plataforma.

Excellent analysis I really like how you explain the importance of creating real use cases for the token to have value. It's a necessary topic for all of us to keep growing on the platform.

0.00014326 BEE

The only way for a token to have long-term success is to have a use case... Speculation on price works only in the short term...
