Did you notice the tea cup and the thermometer on the thumbnail? Yeah, I'm still struggling with my sore throat... 😒 I have different symptoms, but the pain is still there... Luckily, I do have a better voice and I think that I will be able to run the show! The bad is that you will probably hear me drinking gallons of tea and coughing occasionally (I hope not too often!)... So, Wednesday, Ecency Discord server, 5 PM UTC! Our 5th encounter!

I heard many times from newbies on HIVE that they have no idea that they can earn HIVE by upvoting others! What is even more interesting, I heard that a few times from the people who were on the platform for multiple months!!! I blame ourselves for that as we didn't explain to them about curation and upvoting others, and all the benefits that it can bring to them and their communities!
Curation on HIVE is probably one of the most important advantages of this network! I know that we questioned many times whether would it be better if there were no monetary rewards for the posts at all, but hear me out... Having rewards on the posts, and especially, having curation rewards is a huge bonus and incentive to grow your account and your friends from the community on HIVE!
Curation rewards "force" you to be unselfish! Compare it with Facebook, Instagram... People create content to pump up their ego, to feel better by counting likes, pumping their ego to publish more without the need to think about the "other side", about the other person...
You can do the same here... Create content every day, power down all that you earn, and withdraw all... without getting into the "curation hustle"... But, Web 3.0 will punish you for your selfishness... Hivians want to discuss, they want to engage, they like to support, and they like to be supported...
I heard one excuse dozens of times... "I have no job, I need money to withdraw..." While that is OK and understandable, but... Do you really need ALL your earnings? Can't you put on the side at least 5-10% of earnings and support others with that HivePower? You are not giving away that money, it will still WORK FOR YOU when you support others... And the most important, you will feel much better supporting others!

- Do you curate content manually or automatically?
- When you curate manually, what is your routine? Going through personal feed, or communities?
- Do you go and curate OUTSIDE your communities?
- your thoughts about all the above?

It's definitely an interesting topic but I feel that a good post is subjective. Everyone values different things and I agree that people need to grow their accounts.
That was the main idea... As it is subjective, to raise more debate... :) And it worked out as we had a great show with different opinions!

I see that HP has two faces - One is Good and one is bad.
YEs HP it's good, and if you get it big, you can earn more with your posts in the long run and help others what Upvotes and what strong upvote comments.
But also I see you never say anything about the bad parts, like first thing .. that all HIVE world have also large liquid resources at the exchange pages out there, if I start put my HIVE in HP and do this in also long run... then this who sit in exchange pages they fill earn ;) you should know this , I fill earn nothing then when I sit in HP , I wait 3 months to get something out .

Hmmm... I'm not sure that I understood well your "bad side of HP", but what you described makes sense only if you are thinking about selling your HIVE FAST, catching the PEAK of the price... If you plan to slowly sell in (or buy-in), you can easily do it by powering down...
Also, when you curate posts with HP you get 8-9% earnings, while sitting on the exchange gives you nothing... just a space to speculate if the price goes up...
As I don't plan to hurry to sell all my HIVE, I'm not bothered with 13-week unstaking time... But, I do understand that 13 weeks of unstaking time is an obstacle for some people who want to go in and out fast...

Yeah, it wasn't just a Coke and ice... I suppose that it was a virus infection, but now it's definitely "mutated" into something else... lol... I think that it's going in a good direction as I do feel a bit better... :)

I got to admit I've gotten lazy over the years.
At the start when we were still on STEEM, i used to search everyday for quality content to upvote, but after 5 years I've fallen to just checking my "Following Feed" everyday and reading/upvoting only those posts, the only way I find new people to follow is from discord or if someone reblogs a post.
I have some people that I upvote just because I like them and not because of their content anymore, it's like a tradition for me to upvote certain people :D
Interestingly, I have done the opposite to you... 😃 In the beginning, I was auto-upvoting people, delegating all my HP to get the highest APR on dlease, or wherever it was offered...
Today, I delegate only to my curation project and another curation project, keep my HivePower manually upvoting people from my community, and search for good posts to upvote people who deserve to be upvoted...
I suppose that we have different priorities and that's why we do opposite things... 😉 It's good that we have multiple options!
I really don’t want to take liquid HIVE from the exchange. But I really want to contribute 1000 HIVE to HIVE POWER. Even an upvote of $0.01 is very important in communication on Hive.

I upvote quality posts that I see every chance I get. I used to do this when I was a minnow. It's just that sometimes there are posts that are over-voted. We all know about those. I sometimes upvote them with a lower percentage than they deserve, but that's because they've already gotten more than they deserve.
An upvote is an upvote... If it is 1c or $1, it is still an appreciation of someone's work...
Definitely better than throwing downvotes... 😃
Interesting topic... I believe that the content quality is often in opposition with content quantity. So the more we post... the lower the quality but maybe the correlation is not that exact. What I see however is that the quality suffers lately even though it's not that easy to define what quality is. It doesn't have to be 1000 words posts but it should be something that helps you along the way in a manner or another.... Hope you will manage with your throat :-)
I think that most discussions will be around exactly that... Defining a quality post... :)
Haha yes! Sometimes I wonder about this too. I have heard people tell me they delegate all their HP out to "certain delegators" because they give "tokens" which they can swap to Hive. But maybe they are just lazy. Who knows haha.
