What I’m seeing in your post is absolutely marvellous, there’s exquisite, elegant art everywhere!! As you mention, that courtyard is beautiful and the angle from which you took the photo is excellent, but when I look at the ceilings I’m amazed, because it’s an illusion rather than a relief, and then the tapestries where Jesus is looking at the people there, it’s an effect that very few artists have managed to achieve, as if those eyes were alive! The map area is equally marvellous, and I don’t think a single visit would be enough to appreciate all the fine art in this place, which goes far beyond the religious perspective; it requires a level of technical skill and knowledge that takes many years to acquire.

Your friend is certainly absolutely right, not only did it appeal to me, as someone who loves cats, but they generally inspire affection and are loved by many people. That practice from the past is truly regrettable, and I’m very glad it’s no longer carried out, although I can understand that extreme hunger can drive people to do certain things.

When I was studying at university, my parents didn't have enough money to finance me, so I had to take an additional job... One of the first ones was in the PC Gaming club, where I had those nasty night shifts... They weren't 12 hours like yours, but rather from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM... I kind of liked them as it was so peaceful and most of the time, I had company of clients who were "night owls", playing games until morning...
The big disadvantage was that I was completely disconnected from the "rest of the world", as I was sleeping during the day... You're probably doing the same...
